what is this scapular manipulation supposed to do?
Never mind (or read up on it at a certain other forum).
I thought it was a good question. Everyone seems to think they are all chiropractors all of a sudden.
I would PM you this if I could, but it’s something Dante has done to himself and a few people in person that involves tearing some soft tissue which instantly opens up the lat spread a few inches.
He refuses to type it out publically to avoid people misinterpreted and get hurt, he doesn’t claim to be a doctor and has admitted he isn’t 100% sure what’s going on internally just that it works.
All that does is make me wonder why someone would do it. There could just be a reason doctors aren’t ripping connective tissue just so someone can do a lat spread.
In fact, if someone’s lat spread isn’t due to large amounts of muscle in the area, I really don’t want to see someone “opened” so that it looks bigger than it is.
and so you are seeing why I dont want to talk about it on open forums. Does it work? Yes I know it works…ive done it to myself and many others in person…and Ive seen some of my trainees do it after I explained it to them in detail…but if i talk about this stuff on the net it will open up a can of worms in bodybuilding that I dont have the time, determination or fortitude to defend.
I keep hearing “Well dante let the idiots be idiots if they hurt themselves with it”…no im not going to have that on my conscience as I know a great many people will try it.
What happened when I was talking about big 225 pound and upward guys who were stuck in muscle mass upping their protein intake to 500 plus grams a day to get over that plateau?
150 to 175 pound kids on bodybuilding.com started talking about their doggcrapp diets of 500 grams of protein and I couldnt sleep at night because thats the last guys who should be taking in that amount. What happened when I went over how to do all the extreme stretches? Regular size guys on other sites started doing crucifix flat bench flyes with 90 pounds (because thats what I use) and hurting themselves…and thats not even the proper way to do it…you are supposed to do it with bent arms and concentrate on dropping the elbows while keeping the chest and sternum high…people take what I say to the extreme and I have to be careful with this stuff…what happens if i talk about the scapular manipulation and how its done?
Some idiot is going to strap himself up to a tree on one side and his friends Monte Carlo on the other to get a bigger lat spread…Im not taking the chance.

I don’t doubt this at all. If I write that I eat a hamburger on here, some kid logs on days later assuming my entire diet consists of Mc Donald’s. People are stupid. There is no denying that. However, from the perspective of someone who actually treats patients daily, that “procedure” described sounds like a potential law suit waiting to happen unless you have some medical credentials.
