Am I Crazy or Did Starting TRT Make my Wart Grow?

I started TRT about 5 weeks ago and have had a small wart/skintag on my shaft for the past like 5 years, but all of a sudden unless its my imagination it looks bigger in the past month or two. Could TRT be causing this? Seems like it happened out of nowhere.

Had you never had low-T in the first place, things would be as there are now. Testosterone increases collagen production. Collagen keeps our skin plump, and gives our skin that youthful look.

I cant remember seeing anything that says it can cause these and I’ve been reading up a bit on them since having one start growing recently after being “dormant” for months/years (not sure how long as didn’t take much notice of it).

I think my issue may have been made worse by starting using growth hormone which is known to cause them. In the last two months I’ve now found another couple that have started growing.
I’ve since stopped the hGH just in case (well not just coz of these) but even as its a known possible side effect I’m not stating “its caused by it”, just noting the timing unless proved otherwise.

If your provider tells you anything of you find any literature that may help please update thread.

I had a read up again as most of my reading had been about hGH and skin tags so looked at TRT and them.
I read a paper (read, lol. looked at the abstract and results!) about women having less after age 50 due to lowering hormone levels (menopause).

Which one article seemed to think this paper meant it was because of higher free test due to. (Not how I read it but I’m not medically trained or even that interested).

The study found that when you block androgen receptors in the skin, you will increase the amount of skin tags. This proves that skin tags are one of the symptoms of high testosterone because as the androgen receptors are blocked, this would intentionally increase the free testosterone levels, which formed skin tags.

Again this is in women so not sure what this may mean, there are other papers that show that Insulin Resistance can lead to them, this is obviously much more of an issue but I thought TRT tended to help with insulin levels rather than hinder (@systemlord more your territory I think good sir?)

Personally, as around 47% of the population of the states will get them as they age if I found one I’d think yep I’m getting old, but I’m in good company.
If you have 3 or more pop up in quick succession it may be worth checking with your TRT provider or general practitioner just in case?

which means that whilst one or two skin tags is not unusual, a sudden outbreak of many could be indicating a health problem.

Obviously if your bump is a wart not a skintag the please ignore these ramblings!

A doctor on YouTube says skin tags are the result of metabolic syndrome, and correcting it can cause the skin tags to disappear.
