I have two sons and two daughters ranging from 18-23, this age group loves to talk about things they are going to do. Spend months planning and then not doing a damn thing. So again until he comes back and says, you know what, I been working for 6 months, paid off half my debt and now I am planning to do X. None of his verbal commitments mean shit.

The only things that makes a person a terrible person are if you murder, rape, sodomize, or torture someone. If you had robbed a person, it would’ve been out of a necessity to survive, which takes precedence over the morality of the action. This also includes stealing things you don’t need. If you steal something you don’t need that’s also helping you survive, since you can just pawn it off.
However, if you end up giving into your anger and murdering or raping someone in the process, then yes, you are a piece of shit who deserves to be in jail or dead. In the end, as someone pointed out, people aren’t terrible, its the decisions they make that are terrible. Decisions rooted in survival don’t make someone terrible.

So, a hypothetical person quits his job, because he wants to, spends all his money on hookers and blow, because he wants to, gets another job, quits because he wants to and then robs people to support himself.
You would describe this as an action taken out of the necessity to survive, which takes precedence over the morality of the action, rendering it an amoral act, provided there is no murdering or raping in the process?
