oh! See? good to know! So then maybe you should find a belt that you find comfy. That way you can get used to it and mold that sucker over time. I think Kimba also uses a tapered belt, btw. You buck ten bitches and your tiny waists!

Get on that upper workout, missy! slaps Upscale on the ass

belt: I only use them on my heavier sets and those change as I progress.
deads A few months ago was 225 and on
recently I lifted 245 beltless.

squats: usually over 135lbs.

I have a long torso - the wide belt suits me and I like that it looks serious.

I love to walk in my little cardio gym with the belt drapped over my shoulder like a WWF champ.
“be afraid people. be very afraid.”

I think the answer for you would be to try both out and see how they feel… but don’t overuse them.

Ya that was the idea behind using belt a bit but not relying on it too much. I think the belt is like any other gear and takes a bit of getting used to, trying it out…finding the right one and getting it dialed in. Then down the road when you need it your ready to go.
I also think if you buck 10’s (paraphrasing maschy) can use a wider belt versus a taper you get more bang for your buck.

The belt will increase your inner abdominal pressure which supports your back, the more surface area you can cover on your abs the more stable the belt will make you (in theory). So smaller women are getting more of there abd area covered versus bigger women/men and maybe getting more out of belt???
Years ago before power belts we would turn the lifting belt around back wards and tighten so the bigger part was in the front.
But then theres that whole crushing your ribs and hip bone thing…not fun

Ill have you know Im 118, packin 37inches in the trunk (yea yea so its not all muscle, cant do the bootie wiggle if it was.

Take the hip crease bitch haha

I believe there needs to be some sort of ‘hot bitches with hip creases’ pose down.

Todays TRAINING

warm up —> apparently not long enough, started slow.

INCLINE BENCH
45/8 55/8 60/8 65/5

DB bench 20/8 20/8 25/8 25/8

Narrow grip 45/8 50/8 55/8 65/6

Push press 45/3x6

Circuit didnt happen too many bodies, not enough spots

did Tbar row first 35 2x8 40 1x8 +

lat raise/DB curl 10/15s 3x8 threw in a few 15s for lat raise(out to side) got 3 finished the set with 10s

tri ext laying down 10s really needed the 12s, so i upped the reps surprisingly the last set did the 8 i was so done.

Not sure if my intensity wasnt here(thought i gave it my all) if Im just getting used to it and can handle more, or what but i got like a second wind near the end and wanted more. Was gonna do some bar stuff but something came up so i left.

Im not sure what to think when guys load a plate for me while im doing one side? hello not helpless here.Think not a lot of females doing much besides the bunny mill. I got asked what Im training for again today, I took it as a compliment. I really dont like the chatter so I try to end the conversation quick. Matter a fact i find myself putting my ipod away, i have got to feel it, the music distracts me from that mind/muscle connection thing.

This ended 3 weeks. Looking forward to 5s !!! YES

and on a totally random note …My pet peeve today is when you answer the phone “hello” and the person who called you says “hello”…WTF YOU CALLED ME !!

fat frenchie is soooooooo out. lol

I can be a judge though! with a nice cold Leffe nestled between ma fingers. And don’t worry girls, in my book everyone’s a winner as long as you bend over nicely and give me a view. lol

I am so abusing the fact that I am a woman and can get away with this shit.

That was smooth… like a sand paper massage.

True. I’m just sayin’ that there are some serious HBs with HCs around here.

And I would totally use all the money from my paper route job to buy an ‘HB with HC’ calendar to put up in my room.

Awesome adaptation…remember back to first week and how sore and tired you were to now barely getting sore and wanting more in workout, not sucking wind on 8 squats etc. Remember we talked about the first 3-4 weeks were going to be base building/conditioning to get in shape to train heavier. You’ve come a long way in 3 weeks…great work!!!
Now go get some of those potato skins as a reward…

i find it interesting how music helps focus some people but distracts others. nice belt discussion, too. it does make sense to get used to one before you need it. glad to hear that you are starting to feel more comfortable and assertive in the gym. i find it is a process for me. when i just started out i’d just about have a panic attack walking through the door. now i hardly notice people unless they get in my face. sounds like your training is going great.

I like music at times…a lot, but I cant seem to count and concentrate at the same time while my fav tunes are playing ha
walking lunges stuff like that i like it, I can count once and see how far i got.
Yea the nerves walking in have disappeared.

Great coach + great student + lotsa hard work = Great results!

I think I got a crease in my forehead from staring at the latest pic.

In my opinion, belts are for max effort. I typically wouldn’t use it for anything more than 3 reps - 3 hard reps. Just my opinion.

I agree with this.

I’ll go one step further, and be that guy, who is not training for a powerlifting meet -don’t use a belt at all. For athletics and every day endeavors, one is only as strong as their weakest link; aids like a belt enhance/protect/mask your weakest link.

A (wo)man’s got to know his(her) limitations. Even though powerlifters don’t.
