Training
warm up
hang clean + fr squat rack 5x3 bar
front squat
65/5 80/3x5 2 min rest
deads from rack just above knee 4x5 95(tester) 135/155 165x2
sumo deads 105 2x10
circuit 3 min between rounds
sl bulg sq 3x6-0 25s
band pull through 3x15
band leg curls 3x as many in 40 sec. 15-18
Instead of recording everything today I just got a set of rack pulls and sumo just for forms sake, felt good to trust i had the form down.
deads from rack —>back was tight, having the pull from off rack made the aggression come out, not sure if it was the drop on bar/noise but it felt good. what a difference just letting it slam a bit, i usually do too much controlling on the way down and it really tires me out.
sumos got really wide, hips were close felt it scraping up my legs
when i got to the circuit i read it a few times and was hoping i was seeing things
no such luck to which I said a word that rhymes with luck , I was not doing this today without the wrist straps, seems like forever-ago i did these holds and I had every reason to dread them. My 6 count may have been a bit faster than normal insert eye roll here but did my best to give it all i had. The pukeometer after the circuit was on high.
Thanks G ![]()
EDIT: I must still have been delirious, did I actually just “thank” Germanone for making me almost puke on myself? !
EDIT fixed some stuff ![]()
EDIT x3 lol - for my own refernece rack pulls were 165 for 2 sets of 5 not 2 reps.
Ha ha ha Up your too funny! Awesome workout out looks like you nailed it dead on…way to work.
Question…you did rack pulls from knee to lockout right not floor to knee? The pulling from the floor threw me off so not usre how you did them?
Great job on Sumo and did you get the hang of the hang clean into a front squat?
I have some ideas/tweaks for the next week or week after when you start (later next week i think) to hone in on some of the stuff you want to work on. Going back over some earlier workouts gave me some ideas.
Great work today!

thansk fixed that…i shouldnt post so soon after training. Lets just say Im getting a better feel for the clean to front squat, needs to be , umm maybe a bit “smoother”?
couldnt remember if i used 20s or 25s for the 6 count work but it hurt good so was fine. I had to close my eyes a few times doing the pull throughs, didnt help haha
yea I leave for NY tomorrow and wont be back till tues. Ill try to balance out the emotions with some pizzzzaaa and candy apples yummmm.
BTW good idea on the taping, your form/tech is nails and you need to trust it. Maybe tape just top/heavy set and check and maybe every other week we can do a form check on top weight. Probably made your workout go smoother too without having to fiddle with camera.
I really miss the east this time of year, pizza, candy apples, cider, fairs, leaves changing, flannel shirts…Have a slice or two for all of us that can’t get the good stuff.
Have a good trip and i’ll get an anti pizza/candy apple workout together for your return.

I’m not even 35 yet!
your doinitrite UP!
could you maybe get him into it?
my friends don’t get me, either… that is why i like to hang out here ![]()
i don’t understand how someone could try it… and not get totally hooked. i don’t really understand peoples reluctance / unwillingness to try it. actually, i do… i was terrified of the gym before. but i sucked it up and tried. went in there all by myself. i don’t understand why people are reluctant / unwilling to try it when they have someone who is willing to go along with them and look out for them.
people confuse me.
i know i used to hate it when other people picked up a sport or whatever and improved themself. got me feeling badly about myself. weird kind of ‘i am responsible for my bodies looks / health’ and yet a strange feeling of helplessness and inadequacy followed that realization. now… i actually feel really very empowered. it is my responsibility. but the thing is i can. and not only i can but i actually really really want to. gym progress is so much fun!
today will be a just get in some kind of groove. Took the dogs for a long trail walk, the sun was beating on my tummy and felt soooooo good.
Getting your head back in the zone when some stress is over-flowing is tuff, but if you can do it feels so good after.
Such a role “reversal” with parents and kids as they get older. I have a lot more appreciation for all the times my mom or dad would say they wish they could take our pain/heartache/issue so we didnt have to go through it…
Parents getting older is tough. My MIL has been basically banned from the hospital due to bad conduct. shit.
Taking it in stride and enjoying the sun is a great idea.
Also the sheer volume in your workouts make me want to puke. ![]()

Yeah, it is rough with aging parents. Very hard struggles I have had/am having with it myself. Father passed several years ago and I have watched my mom at points nearly give up.

hmmm I can relate my grandfather at age 95 climbed a 10 foot fence at nursing home to “go home”, only reason he got caught is he didnt want to go over the barb wire and they caught up to him.
Yes on volume ![]()
Mim if you can push threw with everything on your “plate” I better be able to plow ahead!
Alexus … well… sometimes things dont go in our favor.
Lil & Pete, I know right! I guess I wasnt expecting this, my dads dad lived to 98 and his mom is still alive and kicking at 95… he is 72. He has a tumor in his pancreas.
I just saw him a few months ago and he was his amazing self…
Training today was 4-evar and ever or so it seemed, sadly even though i couldnt keep up in the end, id do it all over again
I can handle this until im back to work then maybe take out a set haha
warm up- hot shower and roll etc
jump shrug from rack / 3x5 progress weight 90 sec rest
high pull from rack 3x5 same as above
pocket clean from rack(drop under bar to catch) 3x5 kept it light…
squat 45/5 65/5 80/2 95/5 then set up and unlock hips with 155 —> dare i say no big deal? 2 sets of 5 unlocks, then 175 5 reps of unlock this felt like the 115 a few weeks ago —> elephant on my back. vid EDIT: and YES i was dying to go down with the 155 and 175, but Id probably literally go down haha
squat to 10 " box got better at these but surprisingly feels sooo heavy at just 78 # 2x5
good mornings 85/10 95x8 100x6 110x5 115x5 —> not as deep as the 110 but decent. finished it off with 95/11 vid
combo walking lunge 25s 3 sec hold at bottom 2x5 each leg ----> didnt really feel that burn or super tension like the bss not sure ill keep these in (G)
band leg curl still havent got the set up that feels right
should have hooked feet under futon for msome ghr oh well 2x6-8
sl bulg ss foot up 25s (straps) 4 count lower 2x5 eachl
hip thrusts 95 hold at top with major glute squeeze think i got like 7 reps each? 2x thru vid
I fizzled out in end (no big surprise here) wanted to do some calve work ill do it tomorrow.

Nice work today…weights are really starting to look light on your back…that confidence thing we talked about after getting the plates a few weeks ago!
