I’m not big on hockey. Is that a good thing?

Hey Up you finally got that vid movie thing figured out…way to go.
It was awesome to train with ya again 5-6 weeks later. Really amazing how comfortable you are in the gym now…huge difference in your confidence. Lifts are looking good and you look confident doing them. I have to look at where you started but you are pretty much repping what your starting maxes were. Your body is really starting to change also, can see cuts in arms(bi and tri) and delts, back is looking awesome and the legs are really starting to change. There is much more “GO” now lol. Body looking like cross between figure and gymnast type. Great work!!!

Yea squat depth isn’t up to USAPL standards but if you look at your main goals…change your body and get stronger but not compete, depth is fine as long as you keep it close to parallel. Amazing work you have done over the last weeks and very impressive when i saw it in person. Way to go girl!!!

Goon means I play hockey rough. I’ll take that.

The cherry picker label was because as a winger, I’ll drop behind the defense and look for the breakout pass, get a good jump on the defense. I’ll take that too.

Last week they were calling me a hooker.

You look great in the vids, the form will come as you do it more and get more comfortable.

You make good money?

I have mixed feelings about this statement. On the one hand, my standards are certainly only my own and shouldn’t be imposed on anyone else. Although I seem to do a damn good job of doing that. On the other hand, this statement strikes me as the same as saying it’s okay to DL without the lockout. Or it’s okay to bench without touching the chest. Call me a purist, I suppose.

No, not much of a demand for guys near 50 :(. Well, not much demand for me.

The label came from the hooking call I got. I went to lift the defense player’s stick to have him lose control of the puck. For some reason his arms went way up and my stick blade touched his sleeve. That’s an automatic call at that level of hockey.

oh…i thought this was my log, my bad…ill come back another time lol

Well I’ll say i agree with what you are saying but i am trying to take off my power lifting hat and look at it from a functional standpoint for her goals. Up is hitting femur parallel which from my reading is going to get good glute/ham activation (squatting lower maybe a little more but maybe not) also knees coming forward a bit but will engage the quads a bit more. So i am thinking more of an athletic squat…also she had a pretty substantial groin strain that sidelined her for about 6 weeks. Knock on wood that hasn’t been an issue but pushing that squat down may flair it up again. Some box squats to get to parallel and work technique will be in her future (we did some last time we worked out) but pretty tuff to do in this gym so we bagged them. But so far she is achieving what she wants so my thinking is go with it. That’s just an FYI of how her squats are where they are at

i think there is something about the lat spread pose that i’m not getting. either that or i simply don’t have any lats lol. some dude has a vid up on the rate my physique forum where he is trying to pop his lats out or something… i’ll work it out

I think you look great–and with what you are doing it will all just get more defined–your hard work is paying off.
