All Not Well in Dem-Land

Biggest ‘F*ck You’ Ever
by Jason Horowitz | June 16, 2008

A former bundler to Hillary Clinton just called in to tell me that Barack Obama’s selection of Patti Solis Doyle as chief of staff to the campaign’s eventual vice presidential nominee is the “biggest f*ck you I have ever seen in politics.”

The donor, speaking on background, said that everyone in Clinton circles knows the two have hard feelings towards one another and haven’t spoken since Clinton removed Solis Doyle as campaign manager, and that Clinton loyalists view her with deep suspicion and believe that she is shopping around a book deal and acted as a background source for an extremely harsh Vanity Fair piece about Bill Clinton.

“Either one of two things happen,” said the bundler. “Hillary is selected as vice president and they fire Patti, or Hillary is not going to be the vice president.”

The bundler said that Clinton loyalists were livid over the pick.

“You don’t hire Patti Solis Doyle for her operational expertise,” said the bundler. “You don’t do that. This is someone who failed dramatically at her job. You only bring her on to f*ck someone else.”

UPDATE: Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee e-mails with a different take: “Patti will be an asset and good addition to the Obama campaign. After nearly two decades in political life, she brings with her the ability to tap an extensive network that will be a huge asset to Senator Obama. As Senator Clinton has said, we’re all going to do our part to help elect Senator Obama as the next President of the United States.”

Here’s to hoping the warm fuzzies between the Clintons and Obama continue at pace… The official line from Hillary may be in the update, but the message from Obama seems very clear. I don’t know if Obama will like having angry Clintons around in the background…

Fuck you Hillary!

I hope she reopens her campaign tomorrow.

I don’t get it. This Doyle character was fired for incompetence? So how is hiring her anything less than a statement that “I can win even with Clinton’s cast-offs!” If she’s really bad at her job, I can’t believe that she’d be super-desirable.

I guess it can be taken as a snub to Clinton, which is unfortunate, I think an Obama/Clinton ticket would rile up the Republican voters like nothing else in the world!

But then again, I’ll be voting for a losing candidate so I guess my opinion counts for naught.

In other words, Obama must be ahead in Ohio.

In other words, McCain not so inspiring

Er… you realize that by telling Dems their party is outta whack, you’re encouraging them to unite yes?

If you said nothing, they’d all think everything was fine, and that sitting on their asses on voting day out of spite wouldn’t really hurt the Democrats chances.

Just sayin is all…

Hillary would make a far better president than Obama. I am not sure where McCain fits this discussion.

The parallels between our policians/government and the same things in Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged is getting just plain creepier by the day. The infighting, the political hackery, the betrayals,…simply amazing.

Hillary Clinton just can’t inspire. Personally, I liked the OLD McCain. This one’s a total fuck-wit.

Obama’s the first political candidate I’ve ever given money to - and I’ve always been VERY political. I’ve just never been inspired to do it before.

Dems are stupid. Things were lined up well for their nominee in 2000. Blew it. Really lined up in 2004. Blew it.

Bill left office with a 65% approval rating and budget surpluses. He was the only two term elected Democrat President since FDR yet the rest of the party goes out of its way to disrespect him and his wife.

Yeah fuck them Clintons they can actually win elections.

Disrespect? WTF are you talking about?
Also on a technical note, the “clintons” just lost the primary election. So yeah Obama can actually win elections even against (gasp!) the Clintons. So if they can win (sometimes I guess) then he can really win!

Yes, amazing how little sense his post makes. Pretty sure Bill wasn’t running, but if he was he’d win. Hillary obviously not Bill, and didn’t win, although granted her war vote her undoing.

The good news Obama now doing better than she ever would have plus you still get Clintons on the campaign trail. Win, win.

Really WTF! Calling Bill and Hillary racists is not disrespectful? The hatchet piece in Vanity Fair was not disrespectful? You sir are just as goofy a partisan hack as the far right you complain about. Do you get paid to write this stuff?

Obama won the primary using far left fanatics, insiders, the black vote and a fawning press to game the system. Whoopee for him. Only one of those matters in the general. Gore and Kerry won the primary too. It is the general election that matters and the Democrats continually nominate spineless losers, elitists, and wishy-washy effeminates and then can??t understand why they do not win the Presidency.

The crazy part is on an issue by issue basis most Americans are closer to the Democrats positions then Republican positions.

I might add. That ??youth vote?? the Democrats are so excited about thought Ron Paul was the greatest thing ever six months ago. Ron Paul and Obama are about as diametrically opposed policies and world view as any two candidates in the race. It??s the fad of the month and the Internet generation has a short attention span.

It is amazing how Hillary was hung out to dry and still got half the vote. The negativity and outright hate towards her from her own party was stunning.

Clearly you aren’t a very serious person.

You are so stupid.
She was the likely nominee, but ran a bad campaign. So she lost. Where were you while this happened?

Also Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Edwards, Richardson, and Clinton didn’t lose because of hate and negativity. It’s possible, just possible that people like Obama more.

Reality apparently has a liberal bias. Did negativity and outright hate drive out Guiliani, Huckabee, Romney? Of course not! Just more silliness.
