Nothing can beat the newer north dallas suberbs like allen/frisco/mckinney etc… in terms of safe, inexpensive and comfortable places to live. I would say, though, that dallas is boring compared to Houston in terms of art, culture, and entertainment. It’s a bigger city so there’s lots to do, but you just won’t get the piece 0f mind vs cost you can get in collin county.

For my work I have no choice but to stay in this area, not a lot of petro/energy/shipping work in Dallas. I have visited Dallas a few times, like the place, just not going to be able to ever really live their with my work.

Serious question I know LA is also a very spread out type city, I would imagine it like Houston in that is has some good places and some bad places. Is that excluding Hollywood or included, in the comment you made?

X speaks the truth about the hotties and the Galleria, the times I’ve had a chance to stay in Houston for work I’ve made it a point to stay an extra night just to enjoy the Galleria on the weekend. Actually the same could be said about similar venues in dallas like the Addison area and the shops at legacy, etc…
The difference is that in Dallas the hotties are spread out around the whole metro area on weekends while in Houston they flock towards one place(it seems like).

I agree there are ugly people everywhere but, with the whole moving to LA to realize dreams in show biz good looking people are not only born here but, move here from all over the world. There is much more diversity and overall better looking people. I am sure there are beautiful women in Houston but, come one, for all the crap LA (Cali) takes in general lack of beautiful women/people is not one of them.
