Aliens Exist?

I’m not on any meds, there you go making silly assumptions again. What did you go to college for? Assuming? Are you like an estimator or something?

What I do for a living is irrelevant. Neither of us is qualified to have a meaningful intelligent discussion about theoretical physics. The foregoing includes about 99% of the population. I have many business interests; estimating and theoretical physics is not among them, although physics is an interest. I know enough about TP to know that we’re not qualified to have the discussion.

There is absolutely no way you can know what I am qualified to talk about. You can assume, but you can never know. Even if I say something rediculous, my motives may be my own. Am I claiming thats what I was doing? No, but in any event, your use of the KNOW is disturbing. I don’t think you fully grasp what the word means.

This thread was interesting and amusing until you chimed in. Now it’s just sad. Please go away.

Still…again, I thought this was the “what if” conversation for people with open minds and just maybe MAYBE a hint of what we all really think about something.Just throwing the ideas out there. What if ( dare I say it) someone were to take part in or just observe the conversations here and be inspired to go on into a more involved role of research and experimentation. LET IT GO ALREADY

P.S. I’m glad you thought my name calling was funny, that is the purpose, I like humor, it’s funny, calling you a poop filled sack of used condoms is funny to me.

The fact that you’re at least 30 and write like this is disturbing. I feel like I’m arguing with a 13 year old and believe me, I’m not usually the “grown up” in the room. Is this what passes as put downs, comebacks and humor in your neck of the woods? Poop?

“what if” is great until is gets to bad science. no one here taking part in this discussion will go on to research and experimentation. theoretical physics is a young man’s game, not started later in life. i have let it go.

Man, to keep goin on with all thisis rediculous. Last time I looked there was a pretty large amount of younger people on here. Secondly, where did all these rules in life start to be applied? You are showing your age ( not putting you down ) the fact that you speak entirely too much of what cannot be done, what should not be done and why bother says a great deal about you as a person. You are not comprehending what I have been saying all along…it’s NOT about total understanding of theoretical anything …it’s just people having “what was” a fun conversation. If you are not content with it, don’t like it, move on and start a post about something else.

Um, so do aliens exist or not?

Dude, you misunderstand my original post. At this point, I’m just responding to that lil faggot “vegita” whose first reply was just uncalled for. Period. Vegita, whatever it means, is a feminine name. Makes sense.

Oh, I know, I play soccer at NASA, I’ll ask some of my teammates (who actually are astrophysicists and stuff) and report back what they say. Then will everyone just be happy and go back to lifting?

My buddy that works behind the counter at the gym I go to has this cousin…he works with a dude that says he knows a guy that works with his sister that totally got abducted one morning on the way to Denny’s in South Texas, said that dude partied with the aliens for at least 8 hours before they slipped him a mind altering drug that made him go full on Greek Bath with 4 aliens disguised as Japanese businessmen…TRUE STORY BRO

I’m sorry, but how do you know this? In just under a year from now, I’ll be pursuing the physics/math course at university. So while I do not have the neccesary qualifications to speak scientifical about this subject, I am planning on gaining those. I chose to take part in this thread, because, as you said, I find it interesting, and it keeps me interested as well.(High school physics is the epitome of “boring physics”, though I realise that without this, I’ll be worthless later on)

Did I just feed something?

Hopefully ending something…just goes to show, you never know what you don’t know.

I know a few things:

Quite obviously, you are not exhausted by meaningless dreaming. Meaningless, because you absolutely are not capable of discussion theoretical physics or any of the other issues for that matter. So yes, although I don’t know what exhausts you - I’ve never dropped acid and sat around staring at a wall going, “dude” over and over while giggling. The point is, these things are unknowable with the present understanding of our very best minds - of which obviously does not include you. And the physics concepts you are discussing are so far over your head they are rendered meaningless in this discussion. For crying out loud, you’re waxing poetic about “gravity drives” and it is apparent you don’t even understand that the gravitron itself is just a theory, which renders much of the discussion a fairy tale. If another alien race solved all these theoretical problems, why aren’t they vacationing right now on one of our wonderful beaches before global warming screws everything up? There is just as good chance that those laws you speak of are immutable and given that those galaxies are moving AWAY from us at great speed, contact will NEVER be made.
FINALLY! Proof of the gravitron is before you:

I think you meant “graviTON”. Must be one of the MANY things you DON’T know.

If anyone is still interested in the original topic be sure to check out Extraterrestrial Civilizations by Isaac Azimov.

CU! I’m heading back to the Mothership.

Is it just me or do the guys who go on the internet trying to sound obnoxiously smart always come off as really dumb? TheBodyGuard, take your Wikipedia University degree somewhere else and leave people alone. You’re trying too hard and it shows.

If you had your way, none of us would be able to comment on a lot of the articles on this website, because most of us aren’t experts in terms of the information contained in them. 95% of the topics in the world would be off-limits to a lot of people, simply because they did not go to college for that subject. You would have no place talking about Information Technology, and I would be allowed to outright insult you if you tried. Obviously, this isn’t how the world works.

Actually I’m not trying at all. Trying too hard is exhibited in your pathetic look-at-me-avatar. That sir, is trying too hard. You may return to your daisy chain.

You can feed all you want. Nothing wrong with a thirst for knowledge. But unless you’re EXCEEDINGLY bright, you won’t have a future in theoretical physics. That’s not my opinion, that’s a fact.

And your analogy is terrible. Theoretical physics is so complex that most people cannot even “grok” the concepts, forget about the math. They hear simple examples of quantum physics like tunneling, and run off with their folk science and misapply it entirely. No one here has any first hand experience with any of it, unlike most here having at least lifted a weight, consumed a supplement, used a computer, etc. You don’t have to be an expert to discuss training articles. We easily “grok” the subject matter, even if we have not mastered it.

Lifting a weight is a far stretch from understanding the biological processes behind the gain of strength and/or size, from exactly what your muscles are doing, to exactly what your nutrition is doing to your body. Some of the articles on here begin to dig in to some semi-deep stuff, of which most of us only know the basics.

You having used a computer for T-Nation and World of Warcraft is a pretty far stretch from being able to understand, design, and correctly apply software.

So they were decent analogies after all.

Stop being so “complex and smart” and go away.

Well I had a debate with a guy in my Earth Sciences and Astronomy class. The existence of aliens is very very plausible but their arrival to earth is IMO not possible.AS far as I know a particle needs an infinite amount of energy to travel to the speed of light so traveling at that speed is out of question, plus even if they had the ability to travel to the speed of light(LETS SAY NEAR THAT SPEED BECAUSE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS DO NOT ALLOW IT) you would need millions of years to travel from one system, galaxy etc to earth. Its impossible.

The guy I discussed started throwing shit like: they may be able to modify laws of physics etc.I cut him short and left him feeling like shit. One possibility,Its very very very unlikely but I’m trying to look at all possible explanations ,the use of Worm-holes to travel top great distances in a short time.BUT i didn’t say this, because the motherfucker was an illogical prick and he would take this theory on the spot and wouldn’t accept more arguments. And i seriously hate to lose to illogical motherfuckers :P.
YOu know plasma travels faster then the speed of light. We have technology like plasma but not exactly finished but remember we just been around for so long and knowing how big the universe really is there proubly some other life forms that are more evolved and have just a little more knowledge to obtain technolgy. ever hear about transporting. Its said it possible just not right now.
asusvenus wrote:

That’s not true… Traveling fast doesn’t increase the size of an object.

True I think he meant that maybe we will have to pack the object with motors or whatever to make it go faster but the bigger the mass the greater percent of energy needs to be used and not to metion going faster.
