Why are you talking him into this? Does he not bitch and moan enough already?

Morning weight 210 - glad the weight is starting to increase again, final meal/snack if last night was 100ml double cream 60g whey and 300cals of chocolate, this was after a massive lasgna I really was eating with zero desire yesterday, but getting there!

Art least this way he’ll have a legitimate reason!

Right, but if I can bitch and moan AND be allowed to eat 4k calories a day AND burn away some of the excess fat I have put on AND get a bit stronger…maybe I will finally reach my goal of being an underpants model, making it all worth it. It might be a win/win for everybody.

In all seriousness, I doubt @Cyrrex ability to take days off.

That was my own initial concern, lol. But really, Wendler’s days off are just cardio type days, and if I am being honest with myself, I have been doing a terrible job of that lately. That is part of why I am looking at this. On the other hand, I am a bit OCD by nature…if I start a program, I do the program.

The other concern is the diet. Not so much making it clean, but satisfying the minimum requirements for eating ground beef and eggs. I clearly recall @flappinit 's log from when he was doing similar stuff.

I legit just picked a number that, once I calculated it, looked beyond my reach. Forced me to eat big to get through the program.

Program runs for 6 weeks (2 cycles).

It is kind of difficult from a distance (although I have done a other 531 programs a bunch of times) to actually judge how challening things will be at different %. Is it the accumulation of work that makes it a monster, or is it the individual sessions? Or both? I have some crazy notion of just trying the Week 6 Day 3 workout just to calibrate, but I am guessing that won’t tell me the full story.

My strategy is, when I plot out the numbers, if I got “f**k I can’t do that”, it means they’re the right numbers. It’s something you have to grow into.

Just jumping into Week 6 day 3 won’t do you any good because, if you can complete it, it means it was too light. It needs to be something heavy enough that you NEED those 5 weeks leading up to it to grow.

Yeah, but that was sorta what I meant…if I can complete it, then I made it too easy. I am pretty certain I could complete it at 85%. So actually, maybe that already answers that question.

Maybe it’s not your TM % that is out but your estimated 1RMs are too low!

I think it is equal parts both. I may just start with conservative 1RMs and go with 90%. Running the numbers, it looks like that will get pretty tough, and not something I could go out and perform tomorrow.

This is all hypothetical for the moment. Gotta think about what I am about to get into. Plus, it’s always fun to shit up Alex’s log.

Week 4 day 1 (Thursday?!) - take two: absolute minimum.

Conditioning: nope did that yesterday screw doing it again

Chins: 10

S/s:
Squats: 60, 100, 120, 135 X 5, 150kg x 5 X 5
Chins: 5 X 10 sets

GS:
Ohp: 47.5, 55, 60kg X 5, 47.5 X 16
Dips: 25 X 4 sets - rest pause
Face pull: 25 X 4 sets

No cardio, swings or ab work today, chins were counting in yesterday’s 40, no breaks were timed, zero poops were given.

I felt like crap, very tired but mostly because I didn’t eat breakfast until 11 (work and home stuff) at which point I ate pretty big, no problems, then at a about 12.30 my dad calls up got fish and chips but they gave him an extra portion, he dropped it round and I ate what I could (massive, ate all the fish and most of the chips, for American translation this is very thick fries, deep fried in beef dripping, and battered cod also deep fried in dripping). I felt incredibly sick, I knew I would but free high cal lunch… It was in line with my goals. Anyway as a result I cut fluff, but still did everything prescribed. Got drill night tonight and no doubt will be beasted there as well.

I noticed my speed on squats was down, could be not doing swings, could be feeling sick and being tired.

Will try and get my next session in tomorrow - that’ll be fun.
