I ran across an article that is about 3 years old that concluded that moderate alcohol consumption (3-4 drinks per day) increases insulin sensitivity. It did this more so than light drinking (1-2 drinks per day), and no drinking. Heavy drinking (5+ drinks per day) caused insulin resistance. For a natural bodybuilder would the beneftis outweigh the costs? Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
Costs surely outweigh this minor benefit. The impact upon T-levels and the associated calories are two immediate factors that come to mind…
I agree with Big. You can increase IS with fish oil or ALA and with these you actually get some pther benefits too. Dont fall into the old dietitian trap where “it’s ok to eat chocolate because it has antioxidants”. Well so does vitamin C but it has no fat, sugar, or calories associated with it!
