I’ve been drinking alot this summer, more than most “personal trainers” like me should. 3 months ago my bf was about 10%, now my six pack is turning into a KEG! Do I need to cut our alcohol entirly to maintain my workouts? I want to keep the muscle I’ve got, it the beer going to get me in the end?
The current Reader Mail section of T-mag talks about this. Check it out.
Dude… empty calories + testosterone inhibition = flab + less lbm gain
it could be other things too, but ... Sincerely, Cpt. Obvious
Isn’t it great that the personal trainers who act like they rule the gym really have no clue how to make progress, give advice, or even be healthy? I don’t think they covered alcoholism in the ACE Manual…
Are you really a personal trainer? If so, it doesn’t surprise me that you are not practicing what you should be preaching. Most personal trainers suck, so you’re perfect. Keep on chuggin’, PT! I’ll guess that you are mail-order certified–most are. Wow, personal trainers are losers.
Some personaly trainers don’t know shit. Some, on the other hand, do. Please don’t
lump me into the first category.
it is unfortunate that some dumb ass trainers like this clown give all of us a bad name. 1 bad apple, spoils a bunch.
Alcohol ingestion leads to lower testosterone, and higher estrogen and cortisol levels which can eventually lead to a fat gut.
look just try and keep the drinkin thing in moderation. 2-4 times a month isnt bad at all if you can manage it. If your clever enough you can make a little alcohol go a long way.
