I just read their mission statement and it claims to accept all types and be the “judgment free zone.”
Until you pick-up something heavy…then they start to judge.

Sounds good Loose Tool. Except for the dumbells. Heavy dumbell work is a big part of almost all my programs. I wonder if they’d let you bring your own heavier dumbells. They have that 80lb policy, but maybe it only applies to what they provide. Maybe worth asking.[/quote]
The Gold’s is no better in that regard. The heaviest dumbbell there is 80 lbs as well. The funny thing is that Ted Arcidi (the first man to officially bench over 700 lbs) owns a gym down the street from me, but it’s women only.

Hmm, must be your particular Gold’s, because mine has much heavier dumbells than that.
The POSH gym around here is Equinox. I went on a one week free trial membership. They do have a squat rack but they aren’t as well equipped as Gold’s. They have lots of fine women. The guys looked like they joined because they didn’t have the dick to join a real gym.
The sauna was nice. The price: $120/month and a $200 sign up fee.
Thanks for the 1 week trial membership!

Problem is, I have a decent set up in my garage, but in South Texas it is getting to be the time of year when the garage is HOT even at 2am…so for $10 I figured might be worth a try…
So let me ask one final question…I understand it sounds like a goofy place, but is the $10/no contract thing legit? For that price I could pay the initiation and a couple months worth to give it a try and if I hate it, not have had any real loss (or just go in the summertime)…or is it some direct withdrawal that will take months to cancel when i decide to quit?

Yes, the $10 a month/no contract is legit. For $20/month you can get the Black Card membership and bring a guest in for free anytime and get 50% off drinks (which comes out to regular price in the real world). Oh, and you also get a Planet Fitness T-shirt, which surprisingly were only available in XL.
