So a little background info: I’m 25 yrs old, 6’1", 200lbs, ~13% bodyfat, and have been lifting for about 2.5 years now. I was a tall, lanky, scrawny 160lbs whenever I started lifting 2.5 years ago, so I feel like I’ve made some decent progress.
For about the first month or two I was doing full body workouts in order to build a good base. Ever since I’ve been doing a bro split 4 days/wk: Monday- chest/tri’s, Tuesday - legs, Thursday - Shoulders/Traps, Friday- Back/bi’s.
Since the beginning my workouts have been pretty long. I usually spend a good hour and a half in the gym. A Monday Chest Day would look something like this for me:
Flat dumbbell press: 5 sets x 6-8 reps
Incline dumbbell press 5 x 6-8
Chest Dips (bodyweight): 3 x 10 supersetted /w triceps pushdown machine
Hammer strength decline press: 3 x 8
Hammer strength incline press: 3 x 8
Flat skullcrushers: 3 x10
Overhead triceps ext with ez bar: 3 x 10
Triceps rope pushdown: 3 x 10
Overhead triceps rope: 3 x 10
Pec dec: 3 x 10 supersetted with pushups ~ 8-10
Does this seem like too much volume? I’m looking to go to a push/pull split, likely gonna follow Coach Thib’s best damn workout plan for natties. Any advice for following that plan?
Taking into account the considerable less amount of time i’ll be spending in the gym if i follow that plan it makes me feel like I’m going to be skimping out since I’m use to much more volume.
Comments, criticisms, advice?
Thanks guys
