I’ve been taking 1.25mg of selegiline for the past several
mornings. Early this evening, I received my shipment of bulk powder phenylethylamine and took a 500mg scoop in a glass of water thinking that would provide me a boost before my workout. No more than 15 minutes after taking this stuff I had a horrible physical reaction: confusion, low then rapid heartbeat, hives, hallucinations and dizziness among other things. The symptoms went away after about an hour but I thought I was going to die.
I’ve done a fair amount of reading on the pharmacological effects of selegiline and how it potentiates the effects of phenylethylamine but I was certainly not expecting this. Has this happened to anyone?
I have a Simon Dewey painting of Jesus standing in front of his tomb and, during the psychotic episode, I saw his arms reaching out to me. I told Him I wasn’t ready to go home yet
