I’m returning to training after a 2 1/2 year lay off. I’m planning to alternate between two week cycles of:
HEAVY CYCLE
A) Mag-10; 1000kcal. above maintenance; 300g. protein (33%); 300g. carbs (33%); 135g. fat, mainly EFA oil (33%); four day/week split; heavy weight, sometimes to failure, sets of 6-8 reps.
80 total reps/muscle group/week.
LIGHT CYCLE
B) Tribex 500, M; maintenance calorie intake; 250g. protein (50%); 100g. carbs (20%); 66g. fat, mainly EFA oil (30%); three day/week split; lighter weight, not to failure, sets of 8-12 reps. 100 total reps/muscle group/week.
HIIT training 2-3 times/week.
I started with a “light cycle” in order to build my work capacity, and have been using a EC-type fat burner. My concern is that I will experience a rebound effect when I go on my heavy cycle, as I will not be using the ephedrine/caffein fat burner during this time. I figure you need the periodic break in order to re-synsetize your beta cells, as well as to save your nervous system resources for the upcoming heavy training.
So what is the solution? How do you keep from regaining large amounts of body-fat when you go off beta agonist fat burners?
P.S. Any critiques on my basic training plan?
Thanks,
