I’ve tried to research this stuff before posting, but I wanted some opinions so here goes:
I’m 20 years old, 5’5, 125 lbs and uncertain of bf % right now but considering how thin I am it can’t be that high. I’m looking to bulk up bigtime and I’ve settled on 3 programs that I think could help me do this: GVT 2000, OVT, and CW’s ABBH w/100 reps to bigger muscles (focusing on my biceps b/c my arms have 0 definition or thickness). I’ve also read Massive Eating and have fixed my diet so I’m eating 6 meals/day and around 3700 calories. However, I wanted to know which of those 3 programs the forum thinks would get me the best results. I haven’t lifted in nearly 5 years and just finished halfway through the 12 weeks to BUD/S program that left me as low as 121 lbs, which is why I stopped. I have a ton of time, as my classes are only tues/thurs for 3 hours/day, so I can dedicate lots of time to training. However, my school gym doesn’t allow any lifts similar to cleans/snatches/push presses etc.
I’m supplementing with tribex/M/grow!/surge right now. I can post pictures but I don’t recall how atm. Thank you for any help/advice you can give me.
Hmmm, okay. First, OVT is great, but man it’s hard!!! I would honestly stay away from this unless you’ve been lifting consistently for several years and your recovery times are really good. Basically, when I did it I blew my CNS and it was all I could do to make myself go back to the gym. However, I tried it again during a mag-10 cycle which helped with recovery and strength etc. and gained like 11 lbs. in two weeks and another 4 in the following weeks.
CW’s ABBH is perfect for you! You’ll still make great gains but without murdering your CNS. I’d say the best thing you could do would be to do 6 weeks or so of ABBH, then do 4 weeks or so of OVT but strongly consider using mag-10 while doing so. Also consider throwing in a few weeks of EDT (arm specialiced or other) in between those two splits.
The tribex and others will defenitely help with the mass gain. Try to use these at all times and consider adding some creatine to it as well (it’s fairly cheap for a big supply). And for ultimate mass gain there is not better than mag-10, just check out some of the recent threads on it.
I’ll second ABBH. Sounds like its right up your alley! After that, try Joel Marion’s “12 Week” program…I know many people who have done it and have gotten great results. And don’t forget to eat eat eat. Take advantage of that anabolic window post training!!!
