You can do this - except friday is a clusterfuck. Most of our Full Body routines include a lot of supersets - for example, the Squat FSL work on your monday would be supersetted with rows, DB bench.
We have noticed HUGE changes in the levels of strength and preparedness when doing this. On your Wednesday, every squat and bench press would be supersetted with chin-ups/fat man rows.
On friday of your example, all the FSL work would be supersetted also. it takes about 2 weeks of this stuff to kick in, provided you monitor your total workout time. I’ve had a number of people do this and they all said the same thing, “I fucking hated you for the first 2-3 weeks. Now, I’m in the best shape I’ve been in in years.”
Matt Rhodes sent me a testimonial when he did the 5/3/1 Prep work and I’ll post it soon on my website. It’s a new style of programming that I came up with that I realized I needed to implement in the program. Your “work capacity”, which I’m not sure what that even means exactly due to 1000000 different definitions, goes up considerably. You get stronger AND in much better shape. It’s been the breakthrough I needed to help people tackle two birds with one stone AND do it correctly. Luck for it soon.
There is a lot of room for error. I see dozens of templates every day - and it’s impossible to tell what is going on because everything is a snapshot. As most know - we always program a full five cycles. And in those five cycles there is usually two seperate templates.
Once the new book comes out - zero questions will have to be asked since every part is answered. And only those programs will be recommended. Simple. Easy. All bases covered: speed, strength, assistance, comditioning, recovery, etc.
Jim, is there a better way then my suggested fsl 5x5 to get some supplemental volume work in your full body template? Supersetted of course, like you said.
Or maybe i should refrase it. Is there a better full body template then my suggested if you want more supplemental work?
Would this be better?
