Hey, thanks to you (and the couple others up above that have checked in).
Truth is, combination of work (increasing responsibility) and family (kids 3 and 1 years old) keeps me so busy that I’ve just shifted to this minimalist do-what-I-can approach. It has generally served to keep me in the beautifully average-fit-guy shape that you see here. Fitter than most, but no threat to guys that really get after it hard. I have actually grown to love my 10-sets-of-3 pull-up days, which are a nice change from the barbell work and have served to bring my upper body back up a little bit. My favorite thing is definitely still getting up to four plates and beyond on the deadlift though…kinda hoping that I’m doing just enough squatting and pulling for my max deadlift to stay around 500, and that I can bring my pull-up numbers up a little bit. Weighing in around 215 with a 500 deadlift and ability to do a dozen or so pull-ups, while it’s not winning any awards, is impressive enough that it makes you the fittest person in most rooms, and I can live with that.
