acne on scalp

Guys, I just recently started getting acne on my scalp and I am not really sure of the reason. It flared up occassionally when I was in junior high(I’m 22), but it usually happened within days of trying a new shampoo. I have been using t-gel for over a year now and started mixing in nizoral(have a receding hair line) about 2 months ago and had no scalp acne then but now I am getting it pretty bad. I haven’t really made any dietary changes over the past few months so I am at a loss to explain why its happening. Has anyone else had this problem? Or any ideas on how to remedy it? Thanks in advance.

I’ve had this problem for a while. The best thing i’ve found for me is to wash my hair with ordinary soap to really get the oil off my scalp and then was then selsun blue 2 or 3 times a week. I think for most people this would dry them out too much. But i’m a very oily person, it’s so much fun.

80 000 IU Vitamin A for 2 weeks. If you arent satisfied with the results I’ll give you your money back.

Sewerhooker, 80,000 IU/day?! What makes you think this would work or do you have experience with something like this? Or are you just fucking with me? Thanks in advance.

“…are you just fucking with me? Thanks in advance.” That sounded really funny!

Anyways, back to the subject at hand. If it is acne on your scalp or face then the 80 000 IU Vitamin A for 2 weeks will resolve your problem. You can maintain results with a lower 30 000 IU daily dosage. Or simply use the ‘shock’ dosage when you break out.

Important note! Vitamin-A will become toxic at 100 000 IU if taken without any breaks for a Year.

Short of taking accutane or antibiotics, Vitamin-A has proven to give the best results for facial, scalp [sensitive skin] acne.

For less sensitive skin like ‘torso acne’ I would highly recommend Bill Roberts remmedy.

I’m really glad you have a sense of humor. Because some people might not have got the joke. I should have put something like “lol” so you would have known it was a joke. Anyways, I really do thank you for the tip. The dosage just sounded kind of high, but I failed to realize it is only for 2 weeks. So thanks again.

One last note. The recommendation I listed above works for traditional acne. Vitamin-A may worsen your problem if the cause is an rash/allergy caused by the new shampoo. V-A dries your skin because it ‘inhibits’ oil secretion.

Make sure the shampoo is not at fault before beginning any type of treatment.

What was Bill Roberts remedy?

Pardon me, but nizoral is not for hair loss prevention. NIZORAL™ contains the patented active ingredient ketoconazole, medically proven to be effective against P. ovale, the organism which most skin specialists agree is the cause of dandruff. Most other anti-dandruff shampoos work by normalising the pH of the scalp. That is, they try and modify the environment which allows the fungi to survive. A more effective option is to eradicate the causative organism directly by using an anti-fungal agent like NIZORAL™ shampoo. And NIZORAL™ is also the most well-studied anti-dandruff shampoo, making NIZORAL™ the scientific answer in the treatment of dandruff with over a decade of clinical experience. In fact NIZORAL™ is the number one choice of doctors and pharmacists, who have recommended NIZORAL™ to millions of dandruff sufferers all over the world. NIZORAL™ shampoo is also unique in that it’s effect is long-lasting. Even after rinsing, NIZORAL™ carries on working for several days. Since it is an anti-fungal, I am not sure why you are getting acne on your scalp.
Best of Luck.
