Hey guys, I don’t know how many of you know but Accuatne is an acne drug used in severe or persistent cases that didn’t respond to antibiotics or topical medication. I was wondering if any of you medical guys, or anyone who has ever been on it has experienced drops in Testosterone. I’m 20 years old and I’m in the last month of my medication which will be the 8th month. I can’t seem to maintain an errection during sex, which is highly embarrassing, seeing that I’m supposed to be at my sexual peak. I’ve noticed an energy drop, I’m not as aggressive, and I’m not getting the results that I have in the past in the gym. I’ve been afraid to try any T-boosters because I’m afraid it would aggravate the acne, and I’m 20 I shouldn’t need any help in that department yet. Any suggestions, or words or wisdom from fellow acne suffers?
i heard its linked to depression and a couple suicide cases so i’d stay away. i took minocycline for something like 2 years and that made mine go away just fine.
try some tribex, i’m really prone to acne and didn’t have a single outbreak with it
I CANT WAIT TO GET ACCUTANE. I get it next saturday! Their is alot of wierd sexual shit with accutane, but I have suffered severe acne for about 5 years now. It comes down to a question of : would you give up sex for a year, to get rid of acne? I dont know about you guys, but I would give up sex in a heartbeat.
lumburjak, Accutane is prescribed after trying things like minocyclin, and then if they don’t work trying topicals like Retin-A, and if they still don’t work Accutane is kind of a last resort. I was on Accutane freshman year in highschool and it worked wonders where nothing else had helped.
I haven’t heard anything about it regarding T levels, although I remember needing monthly blood tests to check kidney / liver functions while on it, so maybe you could have your T levels checked at the same time.
