Absurd Reaction in Class Today

I’m sorry beans but you need to get off the internet toughguy thing. What are you gonna do if someone says something to you in “person”? You gonna punch em and beat em down for words? I mean come on seriously. Lets say you are a big guy, thats fair, I believe you, but when are you going to start acting like a MAN and not a meathead? Just because you have size, does not mean you get to win an argument, or that you are right. If you can’t back your shit up with your intellect, I suggest going and hitting some books a couple times per week instead of the gym.

I agree with Sky, a lot of times you contribute some real quality shit around here, but then you go off rampaging and calling people out like some 17 year old kid who just got done listening to Vulgar Display of Power for the first time. Relax, there are dillweeds on here, and there are a LOT of normal people who act like dill weeds. Some people do it on purpose just to bust balls, others are just having a bad day. I’m only doing this for your benefit BTW I mean there is some room for growth here, I’m not just trying to bust your balls. I want you to grow as a person, not just in arm size or bench numbers, but emotionally as well.

Dude, this is the internet. If you are honestly going to make judgments on how I treat people around me based on posts where I lose my shit, have a good time with that. I’ll be the first to admit I have lost my shit and dropped some giant steamers, and I’m not always right. I have apologized to people, and just like this bullshit, will forget it in about three days.

I act like a “MAN” and a professional all day. If my posting isn’t up to your standards when I’m off the clock, just ignore me.

Sorry bro, I just really dislike the “say it to me in person” shit. Like some random guy on the internet has really hurt someones feelings so much that the person now wants to take it to the level of fighting the guy in the street? I just feel bad for people who either a) think like that or b) are just being dipshit internet toughguys. Either way, you never win with a comment like that. Again, I’m lookin out for you, not trying to just be a straight up ass.

I didn’t mean it like a tough guy. I meant in in the people don’t judge so openly in real life, so I can ignore it.

Do they ask people if they take speed or coke when they stay on for a double 12 hour shift?[/quote]

I believe most employment agreements allow an employer to drug test at any time. I don’t think steroids is a concern in the corporate world. However, if you were raging all day or otherwise acting too aggressive or inappropriate, that could probably get you tested but really, they could simply discharge you for the behavior. I’ve never heard of it in the corporate world but I’d say in the medical and law enforcement fields it would be much more likely.

It’s an illegal drug. They can question you if you show up stoned too.

The fact that I’m walking into a client I visit once a year, 60lbs heavier than last year and don’t look like a fat slob gives off a certain impression. They were concerned about the perception from the client’s perspective.

The fact I’m actually calmer now, and my knowledge base has grown is one of the few reasons I didn’t get fucked over.

But where things like pot and alcohol can directly affect your job performance, thus making it a concern of your employer, someone taking steroids doesn’t affect their ability to perform. In my mind it would be like them asking you if you are a vegetarian or not, it doesn’t directly impact your job so what business (legally) do they have of asking?

This might be even worse. I run cross country for a local college and my coach told me I’m built like a brick house/middle linebacker. I ONLY WEIGH 165. AT 6’ 1’'! HAAAHHHAHHAHHAH
I’m cut and really strong for my size, but NOT huge.

Did that company have a program/ policy in place that stated what the look had to be? Also no employer can ask, “are you on drugs?” They must have a policy in place for random drug tests and actually follow through on it.

If you show up stoned the company should call 911 and have you arrested. That is grounds for termination.

If they let me go, could I have sued? Probably. But that ruins my reputation here and I would have to move to get a job in the industry.

It effects your performance in client relations, which are becoming more and more important as I move up the proverbial ladder.

If I was this size when I was hired, this would have never come up.

EDIT: BEfore anyone gets on my shit, by “this size” I mean 60lbs heavier than I was last year. Not that I’m the biggest dude around.

I’m not working for KPMG here. It is an intimate setting where honest conversations can be had. If I didn’t go to clients, I doubt they would have said anything at all, because my work didn’t suffer.

eh… just brush it off and move on. just know that they’re ignorant, and you’re not. or you could do what i did at a party and mess with their insecurities (warning: this is very extreme for the opposite sex…)

this girl was harassing me non stop at a party about being on steroids, and was just an overall bitch. i was just enjoying my friends’ company and trying to meet some new people. nobody really liked her… you know, the girl that twat-swats and cock-blocks everyone… she eventually went so far as to grab a bottle of advil, and threw all the pills over me while i was playing pool yelling “here you go pill-popper!”

at that point, i calmly told her (loud enough so that people could hear) “you know what? you’re always going to be fat and will never lose weight. everyone you meet will find you disgusting physically and on a personal level, and you will never have a boyfriend. now go eat twinkie.”

harsh? yeah… that really was the only time i ever reacted like that though… oddly enough to applause and cheer…

I have several friends cough girls cough and they always talk about how hot any emo with skinny jeans is and guys with muscle are weird, I still would much rather be 205 with 10% bf than 105lbs with a worthless life.

lol, OP you will live your life misunderstood unless you conform to society.

wow if they were like that they shouldnt be taking that class.

Not really following the thread here but…

It would be tough to do most jobs from jail.

Depending on what kind of labor laws you work under they don’t even have to test you they can simply fire you based on their assumptions.

lol that’s awesome.

I’m sorry guys.

I refuse to have sympathy for someone suffering the tragic difficulties of success.

Nobody gets HYOOOGE by accident, and if weightlifting negatively impacts your career, you have a tough decision to make.

If you want to rail against the unfairness of society, the hidden accusations of ‘steroids’ by the masses towards highly muscular men should be very far down the list.

‘Should be’.

There’s something clearly wrong when you mention basic supplements like creatine, and people think they’re some sort of steroid that will, and I quote, “make your dick tiny.”
