ABBH/ABBH2 questions

I use the principles laid out in Ian King’s recent articles and damn near all of Waterbury’s in formulating my workout programs, and I’m curious as to just how important the keeping the workout planes the same in each workout. For instance - in ABBH, could I do 10 sets of 3 reps on bench, followed by 10 sets of 3 reps of pull-ups? I ask because while I love to do them, at 6’4" and 220 lbs, doing 10 pull-ups is impossible; I end up doing 5, resting, and squeezing out another 2 or 3. I know, I can just do lat pulldowns, but we all know they ain’t the same…

Thanks in advance, and apologies if this has been covered before…

Yes, they aren’t the same, but for the purposes of ABBH, the pulldown is the recommended substitute when pull-up strength is lagging.
Therefore, I highly recommend you use pulldowns on the 5 x 10 day - they’re still a good exercise.
Once you finish the initial 3 weeks, you’ll switch planes/methods so you’ll be able to perform the 10 x 3-5 pull-up routine you desire.

Yeah, so I’m an idiot. Can’t believe I missed that when I read it. Sorry, and thanks for indulging me.
