i will try but i’ll need to build up to it. get breathless @ rep 3 and can eek out 5 with huffing and puffing… finding the whole feeling the muscle work thing to be quite tricky because of the breathlessness and because i’m not used to training like that. used to EXPLODE up then drop the thing. trying to work my rows more like a bodybuilder at the mo (have been instructed to do 4 sets of 12 - or that is how i interpreted it anyways). 12 freaking reps you have GOT to be kidding me!!! feeling the pump, tho… need to try something similar for legs.

Yeah thats exactly it! Slooow and constant tension. I see alot of the bb boys doing it in their logs too with the leg press and hack squats.
Good stuff! You will build back your cardio fitness quick after smoking quit or at least I did.
cardio / conditioning fitness is what helps me get through the quit. trash myself to the point of fainting from breathlessness (takes a while of quit for lactic buildup to be the limiting factor) and the wheezing helps loosen the crud up so i feel like vomiting and certainly don’t feel like smoking! then sleep / recover through the withdrawal. then rinse and repeat. may as well since i don’t have a job yet. sigh. then should be able to reign things back to more business as usual in about a month…

Well I got sick… been trying to sleep it off no gym for three days still about 80% sick. I’m so bummed its max week and thinking I’m just gonna get in there for BP day anyway. Don’t know what else to do haven’t lifted since Sunday ![]()

I do! I feel semi better. I’m at the office today killin it and think I simply MUST lift today I’m going nuts I feel like a heinous slug. groce. So yeah will probably be in there attempting something basically I think I’m about 35% sick today. This is a massive improvement over yesterday!
Being sick ain’t no fun. I’m with you. I’m in the limbo of not having a proper cold but fighting some sort of virus anyway and feeling just not quite right. Ugh. Hope you are 100% better soon. In any case, awesome lifting.
