A Very Serious Joke

You can do 13 reps at 30 but can’t launch 35? I am sensing a mental wall, not a physical one!

I will not take any excuses next time you do DB OHP.

But eeeets maaah bad shoulder!
I dunno… I launched both 35s plenty of times before… but not my last two single arm attempts. :frowning:

Maybe it IS a mental wall.
I dunno its such a mess in there right now can’t tell one wall from the other.

Would it help if someone was able to pass the dumbell to you in the top position?

My coach always said “no lift offs” I have just stuck with that out of habit. Yes of course a handoff would solve the problem.

Just power clean that shit standing, and then sit down with them.

Thats what I USED to do… but then when I learned the knee kick up it seemed easier and like it took less effort… only now I’m failing on the knee kick up. Damn.

Will consider the clean n sit next time.

just letting you know I got your card

Focus, Hallie! Fuck that noise and kick those bitches up.

Have you tried the 35s double? I find single so much harder.

If you can’t get them up at the same time, then I think you need to reassess what’s up with that shoulder…

Yeah I never have trouble getting it up. Just sayin.

srs: If I were your training partner I would give you 35s when you asked for 30s. I’d bet $10 you’d get them bitches up no probs.

My old program was seated double and I was on the 35s for awhile! Probably at least six workouts got them up. I need DB Viagra or DB Cialis or something!

LULZ!

I haz no training partner :frowning:

I don’t know squat (wank!) about 5/3/1 - how often do you change up your accessory work?

Are you doing the single DB OHPs to bolster your millie’s or for looks - maybe you can switch em up to Arnold Presses on the next cycle, hit that anterior delt for a bit. You’ll probs need to use lower weight for that shiz, good give the shoulders a break…just a thought?

Keep killing it, sexy!

Too much in my head.

I need a off switch.

Or a memory reset.
