A strong muscle is a Big muscle

We all know that big muscle is nt neccasarily a strong muscle. However, if u can lift the big weights would nt u big as a result?

pretty damn big although not coleman or kovacs

This is a question that I’ve given a lot of thought over the last year. I think that, if you lift big weights for long enough, you will get bigger. But the effect might not be as immediate as if you lift to “get big”, i.e., put on non-functional muscle. Like, if you are someone who does a lot of heavy singles, doubles, triples, and stay below 4 or 5 reps in all yours sets, training for power, you won’t see the size gains as rapidly as if you exhaust your muscle with short rest periods and such. It takes more time for the muscles fibers involved in maximal lifts to hypertrophy, but their hypertrophy is a result of sustained exposure to extremely heavy loads, and so you get an effect of “what you see is what you get” in terms of size and strength, as opposed to the “210 lbs but can’t bench 315 for reps” types. However, we mustn’t forget the 150+ powerhouses who are much stronger than they look.

This is true especially at higher reps. For example if you can do 200lbs. for 12 and work up to 400lbs. for 12 you WILL be a lot bigger.
