DE Squat and Deadlift

Wore the briefs for both today, felt great in them. Needed a good day after wednesdays monstrosity. Funny story though, on the pulling I used monster mini bands…seriously mini bands. I ordered the wrong bands, ah well, Ill find some way to used em. I couldnt get the set up exactly how I wanted, but it works for now.

I had wanted to do pull throughs or some variation of that, but my right hip was killing me, dunno why, so I just did some easy stuff, Ill do lower back and abzzz tomorrow with cardio.

Hey man first thanks for the videos. I’ve used some of your ideas for my own setups. I was just wondering, for the deads with bands like you were doing. Have you tried to mimic the jump platform setup with the dumbells.

Use 2 dumbells(4 total) on each side with say a couple of 35’s or 45’s stacked in the middle of the dumbells separating them and putting the mini band inbetween the dumbells and the end of the barbell through the middle. I haven’t tried it yet, but thought it might work and the end of the barbell would have more room inbetween and not keep hitting the dumbells.

If you do, use the longer bands or the smallest dumbells that you can. I tried it today with my black minis and i could barely get the band on the one dumbell, but it might work for the lighter bands or with smaller dumbells.

ME Squat

Its official - I am a complete gearwhore. Tonight I squatted in both briefs and suit (both single ply - allowed by SPF) and wow that was an experience. Hitting depth suddenly became a serious problem. Overall it went well, there was definitely a learning curve. I worked up to 650, I came up when the spotter told me to come up, but upon video review, from this angle I am basically sure its too high. Dangit. Will get it next time.
