A Southern Revolution - The Log of DF and TBA

Thanks for the encouragement and advice Greg and Ink!

ME Bench

Maxed out 3 board in the shirt. Total grinder, but I got it up because I was pissed. The guy holding the board was talkin sh*t to me (in good fun) to get me pumped up, and the moment he started reachin for the bar I drove it up. Upon watchin the video again, I gotta remember to tuck a lot harder on the way down, not doing that is causing me to touch down much harder, making it much hard to get back up. After that, my elbow was hurtin like heck, so I just did lots of stuff to pump and burn.

You need a bigger tire.

Sick PR bro! You squatted over 600 before me, damnit. What’s your pull at?

Haha I beat you last fall bud, hit 600 then, 605 last monday.

My pull is raw sumo 525 with no chalk, straps, anything, 550 same. Dunno what my best conventional raw without straps is. I only have my sumo squat suit, so I am still working on getting comfortable to pull in it.

My grip still blows though.

On a semi related note, how did that chat with the gym ownership over the chalk issue go?? Nice training as always.

Word. You haven’t tested it geared up yet? One gear whore to another, my PR pulls were done in a single ply.

No, not really. I have pulled a rough but passable 550 in it, my grip held out just cause I got it up faster than normal, but it felt incredibly awkward and miserable. I am still workin on how best to get my feet etc so that I can grab the bar without losing power.

That, and the weight came crashing down on my toes breaking two of them. Funny story, few pages back in the log haha.

I remember that story.
When I pull sumo, I set up with my shins at the rings, feet angled out wide. That foot setup seems to work well. The thing that really helps is getting my ass down as far as I can and arching my back to “pull the slack out.”
Happy pulling. See you in the race to 600 thread.

Yeah, we got the same shirt. But that’s not my competition shirt. It’s a smaller sized . . . something or other. Can’t even remember what it is now.

Have not talked to him yet, have not gotten the chance.

Sick squat man,

yeah that tire is way to small to get any real benefit from.

Ahh, there are the briefs. They don’t even look tight on you. Are they?

[quote]kpsnap wrote:

Eh, not really. Once I got em hiked all the way up they def provided some pop and support, but they were nowhere close to as tight as my squat suit.

Like I said though (or at least I think I said), these briefs were given as a gift, so I am not complaining at all.

And yes, I looked absolutely ridiculous tonight.

635 - holy shit.
holy shit.
