I got with my wife when I was definitely not top 10% of men lmao. Still debatable now..
She took a chance on me. Worked out well for her, but she is a good one. Too good for me.

It seems to me like this thread is heading off the rails.
I donât think any thread pertaining to women and sex can stay on the rails, seriously speaking. I donât think this is bad; it just shows how important these matters are to men. And thatâs because regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, age, political views, nearly all of us are more or less involved in the matter. @ChickenLittle
The title of this thread is âŠ
Scientific Look at Toxic Masculinity.
Hmmm⊠not sure how sex and women become the main topic.
I think there was discussion about how competition for women and sex is a driver of toxic masculinity.
That and how the phrase is overused in the modern world, often wrongly.
@ChickenLittle is right though, it has kind of segued.
Likely because masculinity, male image and behavior, is bound to sexuality.
I mean, it wasnât men who came up with the term âtoxic masculinityâ now was it? ![]()
Youâre right though, itâs derailed the scientific nature of this thread.
I laughed at this in light of recent events in the world.
My quick googling suggests that it actually might have been men who came up with this term.
I bet these men are toxic as fuck too ![]()
Donât let beautifully manicured nails fool you. Those guys are tough.
Its all fun and games until you catch a Louise Vitton upside the head.
I think an interesting aspect of toxic masculinity is the extent to which traditional masculinity regulates it and how the suppression of traditional masculinity has caused toxic masculinity. Historically, if a guy acted like an asshole, he was heading for a beating or worse. Guys couldnât sleep around and disrespect women because the fathers and brothers of those women would take care of things, so to speak. Real masculinity regulates itself. Fake masculinity is toxic.
Thatâs because women NEED men. Men donât need women, men WANT women.
(Disclaimer: obviously a generalization about nature and the human race. Still 90% accurate in the modern world.)
What century are you living in?
I see way more women do a successful job caring for themselves and their children than I do men.
Ehh, compare success factors of children raised in homes of single fathers vs single mothers, and you may find reason to change your mind.
But getting into the men vs women stuff is kinda ridiculous tbh. The world would be WAY worse without both genders.
Men need women if they want to procreate. Women need men if they want to procreate.
Kinda tough to make babies without both ![]()
That isnât necessarily opposed to what I said.
I think you guys are focusing on the practical and not the psychological. My post was directed at the @cdep89 post.
The whole woman vs men thing is dumb, each gender gets their backs up and it leads to stupid arguments. As a man I feel that women are better in many ways, but men are in others and there isnât really a discussion to be had on that. The modern problem is this equality stuff that can not and will not work for one massive reason - WE ARE NOT EQUAL. That is not a slight to either gender. Different purposes, different desires, different this, different that.
In the wake of the equality fight, it has gone a bit too far the other way. Women can push any rhetoric and itâs seen as empowering or a âstick to the manâ, no matter how socially damaging it may be. Anger at the things that men do and they canât, things like being considered a stud instead of a slut for sleeping around despite every single measurable factor proving that there are clear unchangeable biological reasons proving that it is a bad thing. The pay gap is also a myth that brings a lot of anger. This is relevant to the thread as these rhetorics canât be criticized for fear of being called a misogynist or âtoxic masculinityâ. Itâs creating a man-hating world that is starving people of real connection. You see a man saying âa high body count for a woman makes them unattractiveâ and getting silenced, and if he says more things like that, thereâs a likelihood heâll be banned from various apps. This happens despite literally thousands of women preaching things worse in the other direction, things that are genuinely damaging and itâs allowed to run scot-free because âyou go girlâ. Toxic femininity hidden behind empowerment.
