Was that a fan movie or are they really doing something that interesting and badass with the franchise?

Spawn = Jax.

Lol looks like theyre throwing the storyline to the wind.

Wow, that’s…unexpected. The first two MK films were pretty awful, but they seemed like the pinnacle of filmmaking to me when I was a kid. I watched that shit over and over agin, for whatever reason.

I’ll probably have to see this for nostalgic purposes, even though I can’t really imagine it being very good. It’s obviously been updated to be less cartoonish than the first ones, but it I doubt that will prevent it from being an action cliché-fest.

That looks awesome. Except I was eating while they did the bit with reptile.

No the storyline is still there. They have just chosen to portray the tournament from another fighter’s perspective, while trying to actually ground the movie in reality. I’ve always liked that the character is neutral and being Tobias’s favorite, I thought he might actually win one of the tournaments at some point. I’m glad that the video is real though, and that a film like that emerges in the future.

Then the storyline isn’t there. Outworld etc… is a huge part of the story. No Raiden, Kang? Looks interesting though.

That was the longest preview ever! But it looks a lot better than the other ones.

That promotional video does not show enough to say that those elements are not there. There is still a tournament that Shang is gathering fighters from all over to compete in. That is straight out of the first game. Whether or not it will be for the fate of the world, …well that is yet to be seen.

Looks like it’s actually happening.

HOORAY FOR AWESOME!!!

Is that Jeri Ryan? The light only hits her whole face for like 2 seconds so hard to tell. You know Micheal Jai White gonna be throwin down in this movie at some point too, you don’t cast him to sit in a suit giving orders.

Edit: Nevermind posted before I read the link, it is indeed Jeri Ryan. Yea she’s hot.

that looks badass

I’ve heard some people say it’s for a vidja game, given that E3 is near and all. But it looks like chimera’s link disproves that I guess. Looked pretty cool. I was a bit disappoint that Johnny Cage died though. Or is this not indicative of the final movie?

I think it’ll be a bit cheesy but the fighting, violence and darkness will make it worth watching.

Thank god scorpion is the main character and liu kang isn’t.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!

According to IMDB, it’s a new movie with a release date of 2013, but no other info yet.
