This probably goes under nutrition more than any other forum, I hope…
As it is nearing my senior trip to the beach, I’ve decided to to go the next month without cheating on my diet. Unfortunately,I’m also starting my IB exams tomorrow(sort of like AP, but the final is after two years), and the schedule is not so nice, with minimal breaks between exams. I figure by posting here I have some accountability, since the longest I’ve ever been able to not cheat was a week. Time to bust out the protein shakes.
but if you do cheat. Make sure its a cheat meal not a cheat day. And a cheat meal once every 1-2 weeks is not all that bad… keeps your leptin levels in check.
I like doing half a cheat day once a week, or a “clean” cheat day where I just up my calories. Follow the 90% rule. Hell, make it the 95% rule. The point is, that little bit of cheating isn’t going to hold you back–if anything it might help. If you don’t get where you want to be, you need to reevaluate the other 90-95% of your diet. The failure rate for the all-or-nothing approach is too high. So accept that you’re going to cheat, and plan it so it becomes something you control as opposed to something that screws you up.
