A Lesson To Learn From Kai Greene And Oscar

seriously, dorian is the only pro that i’ve heard that actually understands what triggers muscle growth and can explain why he trains in the manner that he does…

Have you ever seen any Kevin Levrone’s videos? How about that muscle show that Shawn Ray used to host? You don’t think they understand the way they train. They sound pretty knowledgeable to me.

thats why you see a bunch of pros who never make improvements…and the guys who are making improvements are the ones that are really pushing the weights that they’re using in training(ronnie coleman, kai greene)…[/quote]

This simply doesn’t make any sense.

LOL, yes… All the other pro’s out there just got to that level of muscularity by magic. The “Swole Fairy” as it were, just flies in at night, waves his wand, and poof, welcome to swoleville, swolertown.

Jesus…

But I love the Swole Fairy!

All I’m saying is don’t put these guys on a pedastal…pay close attention to who is making progress at the pro level and who is not before you start taking advice from them…

a lot of these guys don’t even train the same way they did when they were amateurs, so you have no idea how they initially built their physiques…

I can’t quote any specifics, but not everybody is Mike Mentzer

Swole Fairy?! Really?! What do I have to put under my pillow to get him to come to my house? A sweaty shirt, or maybe a 45# plate or something?

Dude im sorry if a guy is at pro level then he WILL have knowledge and advice that I would be keen to listen to and evaulate for myself… And of course they dont train like they were at amateurs, its called progress son and that means they have gone past that level to a higher one (pro status) no? So they would have advice that you would need.

Yea i dont believe Kai took a whole lot from his training session with Dorian. I watched the video too, and he was very stand offish, kept to himself, and didnt follow advice for longer than a period of 2 reps. But then again, Kai got to his size through a different method of training. As is always said, what works for one might not work for some. I like Dorian’s style and actually use that myself, but its obvious kai didnt, but hey thats alright.

And in response to Jay, man i seriously think jay is one of the most overrated bodybuilders of all time. I dont see olympians wins in him. 2009 was his best year ever and i still dont think he deserved it. But hey, im not a judge so who cares, right.

my guess is Kai did take a lot away from the training session, i think w/in the moment he may have been overwhelmed, Yates is/was very much an idol to Kai. Kai’s back is one of the GOAT in my opinion so whether or not he rows like DY isn’t really critical.

dorian has helped Kai a lot w/ his mandatory poses, critiquing his quarter turns, arm position, etc. my hope is that Kai brings in a harder posing routine, perhaps some Public Enemy to pose to and not that bubble gum lil’ wayne BS.

regarding jay. he did look very good in 09’ but still has a blurry back lacking the detail of Kai’s. Phil has made amazing improvements but i insist he’s still incomplete w/ a small chest relative to the shoulders, arms and his legs are great from the side but not on par w/ kai, jay, branch.

i hope Victor does well this year, top 3-4 or better, hope Kai nails it and i dig branch in the gym, but on stage he’s ugly, not top 5 IMO.

Jay was the clear winner IMO when I watched last years O…

Yeah I hope Vic does well too, he looked awesome when I saw him guest posing next to Jay and Branch earlier this summer.

i agree, jay clearly won the O in 09’ (probably his most decisive win to date). i think Kai can beat him this yr, but we shall see.

vic is my darkhorse to shock everyone, he’s probably got the best structure as a pro today, he just needs the leg(s) to come up and nail the conditioning which he never seems to do.
