Ouro,

You should make sure ddot gives you a bit of a body building program. Even if you don’t go up a weight class, you should at least try to fill out the one you’re currently in!

I just realized Court mentioned that this 55kgs was the most you have weighed in a meet yet! A couple kgs of muscle could really help add some weight to your total. Also with your metabolism, you would never have trouble dropping a kg or so to make weight.

Just something to think about.

Rugger

I was thinking the same thing. Not only that, but this is an excellent time to deload the spine for a week or more…

Are you saying I’m too skinny?

I’m going back in the gym tomorrow night (so 6 days no lifting) but will be staying away from back squats, deads and bench for a couple more weeks. Ddot is very kindly putting something together for me the incorporates squat variations with light weights and some assistance stuff. My mental health is such that I need to do something.
Shit, forgot I’m talking to a female…shit, she is going to be body conscious and take everything I say wrong! Fuck! No…but Rugger has a point about moving more weight when you weigh more… Ya know?

Are you using the Titan Centurian? I am thinking of purchasing one and have a couple questions. My Metal suit is a disaster and it is time to move on.

Claire

Yes, I’m using the Centurion and I love it. I wear a size 32 but think I should go to a 30. I didn’t have any problem getting it to work for me.

Thanks for the feedback. How did you determine size? Did you just tell titan your measurements? Did you order through Titan? Did it take long to come in?

thanks again

Claire

PS - Leg Presses are good if you want to deload your spine.

I ordered it through the Canadian rep but got the sizing of the Corporate Titan website.

I hope you have as much success with it as I have. Now my Fury is a different story :(
I love my Fury but had it custom made so it fit great. I want to purchase a katana but I am holding off for a couple of months.

I’m just winding you up. I know what I look like. I’m one of the least body conscious people I know.

The weight gain is something I need to think about. If I go up to 60kg, I can move more weight but I’ll be competing against women who move more weight. I’ve been the size I am for a while and a comfortable with it. It would feel odd to me to try to deliberately try to get bigger. That’s a very female reaction because we are conditioned to want to be smaller. Women do it all the time of course in body building and whatnot, but it bucks a lifetime of conditioning.

Because I like the feel of my body now, it would be tough to change it. That may not make sense but my analogy is being pregnant. When I was pregnant and for a while after, I had enormous boobs (hard to believed I know - 40 D). I hated it. I was accustomed to having a slim, athletic, streamlined body and the big knockers felt entirely out of place to me. There is a comfort and confidence to knowing your own body, it’s dimensions and how it moves. I’m leery about changing it.

40D!!! Hey I am a guy, it just kind of stood out (pun intended).

Anyway, I had the feeling you aren’t ready to jump to 60kgs yet. And I’m sure that it has nothing to do with Dainab playing that tape over and over as you slept in Moosejaw.

That’s why I went with a couple kgs of muscle, just to be hovering around the 56kg mark.

My ears were burning with this thread.

All y’all’s balls will be mine, some day.

And I totally get the “let down” after a meet. Part of me is totally hyped for the next meet; part of me just wants to sit in the corner with a box of Samoas.

Do you really say “all y’all”? Like do people actually say that or that just a stereotype like all of us Canadians live in igloos? Serial question.

What’s a samoa?

I’ve been sitting in a corner eating ice cream and corned beef hash.

I’m going back into the gym tomorrow night and will be starting an interim program for a few weeks designed by Ddot.

I say “y’all” and “all y’all” and “fixin’ to” as an tintentional affection and sly wink to my time spent in Oklahoma.

The fuckers in Oklahoma really do say “y’all” and “all y’all” and “fixin’ to”.

Seriously though, what are samoas? Is that like eating Samoans? How do you fit those fat bastards into a box?

Samoas are a girl scout cookie that have coconut, caramel, chocolate, and cookie…nom nom nom

I think they might have crack in them too, they are THAT addictive. I spent years as a Girl Scout leader, so had easy access to them. I should also note that I am dangerously allergic to coconut.

Used to be, I could load up on antihistamines and eat a few Samoas, and only got a little wheezy. Last time I tried it, I had to have an epi shot. Man, it was worth it, though.

Thanks for the winding. You look damn good. Cool.

Just remember dropping a kg or two of water before a meet is easy, it is easy to get that weight back up and carrying the extra kgs everyday will make you stronger. I was not thinking of you going up to 60kgs.

That’s pretty much the advice I got from one of the guys I train with. Go 1-2 kg higher for training and then drop water. I just get paranoid about making weight. We’ve all heard pmpm’s cautionary, spit in a cup, tale.

Now I just need to decide what route to take as far as meets go. I’m thinking I will do the big one at the end of September. My choices are:

1: Do nothing until that meet and train for 6 months

2: Do the Ste. Marie open in Quebec with Dianab June 13. That leaves 9 1/2 training weeks from now till June and 16 from June to end of Sept.

3: Do the Ottawa Open July 18. That leaves 15 training weeks from now to Ottawa and 9 training weeks from Ottawa to the end of Sept.

Since last June I’ve done 2 strongman and 4 pl meets. I think my body would prefer no meets for 6 months but my brain/guts would like a meet midway as a warm up for mental reasons and the high I get from it.

Any suggestions or feedback from anyone would be appreciated.

Ddot has very kindly put together a bodybuilding style training template for me to use for the next couple of weeks while my body recovers from my PL shenanigans.

Tonight will be :

Leg extensions
front squats
Incline dumb bell bp
Incline dumb bell flys
Reverse grip press downs
Straight bar press downs
Push ups

A couple things I’ll be researching to see exactly how they’re done so I don’t see a story about myself in the src thread; some chick looking like a total tool in the gym.

I’m looking forward to it and have no doubt I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. I haven’t done front squats in a dogs age.

I think this is just the thing to ‘rest’ until I cycle up again.

Thanks Ddot - you really have helped.

Since you and your brain both need a rest, I would suggest option 1. However, knowing you and your ways, you will be a monster stress case if you don’t compete for 6 months. Therefore, I lean more towards 3.

Right now your body hates you (even if you don’t feel like it does) and your brain needs a mental break from everything PL oriented (drama, cycling, stressing over attempts, etc etc). I think you would feel more refreshed spending 5-6 weeks doing non-PL stuff (with maybe some of the big 3 towards the end of that) and then cycling up for 9-10 weeks, then cying again for 9 weeks.

If you do the meet in Quebec, you’re not really giving yourself much of a break before then because you’ll want 8 weeks to cycle most likely… so you’ll end up doing ‘other’ stuff for like a week before you start cycling and stressing again.

We both know you’ll be stressed going into provincials regardless of how many training weeks you have before it - why not give yourself a mental break now… it’s the only time I see yourself actually giving yourself one…

Before I get crucified for including Leg Extensions, let me defend myself by saying their pre-exhaust for O’s Killer Quads.

In my part of the country “y’ll”, “all y’all” and “fixin’ to” are all proper grammar.

“He needed killin” is also a valid defense in a court of law.

Something about those accents make me all wobbley and funny. Maybe it’s from years of being surrounded by Belfast accents and getting tired of them.
