Thanks for the good wishes. It’s next Thursday though
I wish it were this weekend. I’m totally stoked. Poised and ready to go.
I just need to get the weight up still. This morning was 55.1.

Oh whoops! I’m awful with time…being on time, time management, telling time.
Good luck putting on the extra poundage…I mean kiloage :D.
Thursday March 26, GL Burlington
Tonight was my last workout before nationals. I’m getting all butterflyish and stuff.
This is the point where I start to question my attempts and make lists and check them twice.
5 minutes elliptical, stretching and stuff.
Squat:
The warm up was done in a squat rack because a couple of guys were in the power rack. I don’t really like squatting in a squat rack any more because quite often the bar hits the safetys because my body is shortish so when I go deep, it hits.
45x10
95x5
135x5
155x3
I watched the two guys in the cage. While I was warming up, a middle aged man came over and asked if they were IPF powerlifters (with something like awe in his voice). They said no but expanded on how they were almost going to do a meet once but then they had to go to a concert or some such crapolla.
Anyway, mig (middly aged guy)went on about his background in powerlifting that sounded suspiciously like 20 years ago he knew a guy who also almost competed. They then discussed depth and mig tried to get them to box squat on a milk crate.
I asked if they were finished fellating each other and could they just jizz and let me have the cage. After all, I’m a for real IPF powerlifter (cue trumpets and sparklers)
Anywho:
185x1 suit on straps down
210x5x3 suit on straps up
Timing on working sets was: wrap, squat, upwrap, wind wraps, rewrap and repeat. My feet were killing me at the end just from being in wraps so long.
Bench
45x10
65x5
95x5x3 pause on last rep
105x1
85x5 pause on last rep
75x10 "
Chins
1x13
1x9
1x6
Tricep push downs
75x15
75x9
75x7
My 9 year old daughter is sick right now with a fever and stomach issues. I expect to develop the same thing next Wednesday.
Court: The guy you were gabbing with on Tuesday with the sweaty ass was asking after you.

Thanks for making me laugh out loud. That was hilarious!

I told him I wasn’t going to be there tonight. We should be in tomorrow annoying people haha. My body needed the break. I’m not sore, but my body felt run down after all deadlifts all day yesterday.

Tell her I hope she feels better - I know that’ll mean lots to her
Also tell her if she gets better quick and doesn’t get you sick that I will take her to McDonalds just me and her.

Thanks very much Court. I know she’d love that. Right now she’s with her dad so hopefully she recovers and I don’t catch it.
Arrgg, by this time next week we’ll be on a plane heading back home and it will all be over!
Time goes by really fast!

I know. I wish I had planned to stay longer. I tried to extend my flight by a day but my travel agent hasn’t called back. At least I will be able to watch a few of the guys lift because I don’t leave until late afternoon.
Next year I’ll stay longer. Even my chiropractor was surprised at my loserishness that I wasn’t staying the weekend. He didn’t phrase it like that but I could tell in his mind he was doing the ‘L’ on his forehead.

I don’t know about Diana but Thursday night I’m trolling for Moosejaw man ass.
Actually, a bunch of the women plan to drink vodka out by Mac the Moose.

Althea and Karen were talking about the big party at the end and how they know they’ll be able to fit in their dresses before they lift on Thursday, but by Saturday night they’re not so hopeful.
You are a big loser… and you know he did the L on his forehead as soon as you turned your back.

I say, from past experience after rugby tournaments, if you find a moosejaw man, it is best that you don’t stay the weekend. The faster you can leave town the next day, the better!

If you are going trolling, I’ll be close by to capture it on video.

That would be super. You really are a friend. We’ll post it here if he’s hot. If he isn’t we will never bring it up.
Last night I bought a new mattress. I also got two new pillows with microgel fibres inside.
The mattress is a super plush eurotop and I can hardly wait for it to be delivered. I get it the Sunday after nationals.
My current mattress is probably over 20 years old. I’m hoping the quality of my sleep will improved along with a host of other things.
I don’t think I’ve been sleeping really well in a long time. I don’t feel tired but I get increasingly forgetful and have difficulties staying focused. My mental alertness is in the crapper. Of course it may just be age and the fact that I have a million things on the go. Regardless, the mattress will feel great.
You know you’re getting old when you get all moist and dewey eyed over a new mattress ![]()
Good to see your final Nationals prep went well, what sort of openers are you looking at?
So you aren’t staying to watch any of the men Friday or Saturday? I’ll be helping two of our girls out on Thursday so I’m sure I will run into you and Diana…if I don’t before lifting starts, best of luck!
PS. Nationals will be in Quebec City next year, so that should be something to look forward to for all you central Canada lifters. You didn’t hear it from me…![]()

I will see the men lift on Friday only. I tried to change my flight to stay longer. I hadn’t really thought things out very well and didn’t realise it would be such a party. Next year I’m staying to the bitter end including the planned striptease by one of the larger guys.
Are your ladies lifting in the morning or afternoon?
My openers are:
Squat - 107.5
Bench - 55.0
Deadlift - 120.0
I won’t say anymore because I hear that one of the guys from the other clubs has been asking how my training is going. He trains with Maureen and I’m pretty sure we’re going for the same record. It’ll just be attempt positioning to see who actually gets it. I’m hoping to make it to master class in this one.
Quebec City? I’ll be there with bells on.
It looks like your competing directly against my square buddy Andrew ![]()

I heard a rumor about that, 2 hours from home will be cool.
Hope to see you in MJ!

They’ll be lifting bright and early in the AM, 48 and 52kg so they’ll be some of the first on the platform.
Good work, Masters ranking is no joke…next stop Elite! None of Alberta’s lifters are lifting against you so there will be no sabotage on my part haha. I saw that a few weeks ago, the more competition the better is my attitude, should be a blast.
