As far as I know she is accepting entries for the remander of this week…even though they’re late. The Saskatechewan crew hosts great meets but they are kind of hurting for entries this year. I’m sure we’ll see a lifter list up early next week at the latest.

He told me if I’m not fixed after yesterday that he’s meeting me at a gym because he doesn’t believe I should still be having issues. I’m pretty sure he wants to meet me at the gym then take me out for dinner and drinks after. I keep mentioning Bartl but maybe he doesn’t care… if it means I have to stop driving to Hamilton for my appointments… hmmmm hahaha

Since yesterday morning I’ve been doing new exercises involving pelvic tilts and walking in figure 8’s swinging my arms. It’s supposed to do something to loosen up my lower back.

Our offices are being renovated so I’ve been hiding in my bosses office every hour or so and marching figure eights around his empty office. No doubt I look like a total tool and I hope no on sees me. That would be an awkward conversation.

For some reason your story about hoping no one sees you at work reminds me of this time, way before I started working out like I do now, I hurt my back picking up boxes at work. Well everyone had left, or so I thought, so I found a piece of card board and put it on the floor, cause it was dirty, and curled up in a ball on it to relieve some of the pressure on my back.

Just then my boss walked back in… “My back hurts from those boxes, don’t ask questions!” He just turned around and left and never brought it up again, lol.

I hope your back ended up being okay. I was actually caught today marching around the office. It wasn’t as awkward as I thought it would be. Maybe everyone is used to my idiosyncrasies. Who knows?

Friday March 6, Niagara PL Club

I made the trek to St. Catharine’s to work out with the guys at the club there since it was my first day going heavy again on squats. I was pretty stressy about it given all my issues in the last week or so.

I’m feeling much more confident now about what I’m doing and how I’m going to perform. I feel like I’m at precisely where I want to be as far as body weight and attempts are concerned. I just have to maintain for the next 4 weeks.

Thanks very much. I’m still feeling pretty good about it. It’s more that my head has a bit of peace about how I am going to do.

Next medium term goals are:
squat: 300
bench: look less like a tool (150)
DL: 315 (this one is very close)

I celebrated last night by watching CSI and doing some embroidery. I got invited out for a hot tub visit but I knew I’d just fall asleep and be zero fun. The hot tub sounded great though. Maybe I can weasel my way in today.

The training is going well, so I’ll just have to see if I can transition it into peaking at the right time.

As for goals, good question. If I was to compete in the Intermediates this year, I’d need a Class 3 + 4% total (~1080lbs). I don’t know if I’d be able to go anyway, but I thought I’d set that as my goal. However, that’s a 120lbs total PR (~958lbs in Niagara). So I’ll see if it’s achievable.

This is a video of one of the 5 sets of speed pulls at 235 lbs. The first set was quite slow because I’d forgotten to chalk my hands and my grip was failing. This is set three I think.
