Another little girl from the school named Florence enjoys water from the new water main.
When they went to work on the new water mains, the wells had been dry for a month and water was trucked in daily.
That is really very AWESOME!!
I’ve often thought of trying to do a ‘volunteer vacation.’ To see the happiness of children enjoying water for Pete’s sake, it must really be a humbling experience!
I find myself “talking” good more than doing good. My hat is off to your brother, sister-in-law, and all those others who go over there, roll up their sleeves, and make a difference in the lives of people who have next to nothing. They are among this world’s true heroes.

Listening to him talk about it makes me understand just how much we have, even the poorer people in Canada compared to other places in the world and how much we take for granted.
My brother wants to move there now and start a construction business. He loves the people there and although there were difficulties he can’t wait to go back. He said when the workers weren’t paid quickly enough, machetes came out but there is 70% unemployment so people can get tense quickly.
Compared to the client’s he has here that bitch and moan when things aren’t exactly how they envisioned them he would prefer to be there.
I realise none of this is training related but because I’m not exactly the most altruistic person in the world, I thought I’d advertise the fact that I’m at least related to one ![]()

Thanks very much. I don’t even talk a good game.
To me, it underscores how much we have that we don’t need and how hard we work to keep the stuff we don’t need. I’m not for one instance saying I’d prefer to live in poverty but the chasm between our lives and theirs makes me wonder what we are doing to ourselves sometimes. We are slaves to our desires for shit. But that’s another rant entirely ![]()

It’s not like we’re doing anything training related this weeek anyways… there’s only so much talking about visualizing and eating we can do…

You, my pint-sized training partner, are a bitch.
You can also haz a punch in the face. Maybe the swelling would increase your weight a little
While you haz your meatloaf and pototoes tonight (whatever the hell pototoes are), I’ll stick to my no carbs after 3pm except for veggies. Thanks.

Pototoes, my excessively angry training partner, are fingerling potatoes parboiled, tossed in garlic olive oil and baked on high to achieve a lovely golden, crispy exterior.
Or it’s a typo. Either way, that’s how I’m making them tonight ![]()
Thanks for sending that link. Before this forum I never really knew that there were powerlifting opportunities for people outside of college.
Now I just have to start lifting some real weight. I’m sure it will come in time.

No problem. I didn’t know it existed until a bunch of people started posting in Strength sports looking to do their first meet.

Wow. You Canadians sure are picky. Down here we spell it “t-a-t-e-r-s.” If we buy them at a shoppe, however, we spell it “t-a-y-t-e-r-s.” Fine cuisine, no matter what you fry 'em in!! ![]()

It’s not cuisine, its koosine, you Mississippi Phillistine.

Isn’t the Phillistines a big chain of islands in the Western Pacific?? Unless you mean a gal I went to school with: Phyllis Steen.
So this is my morning irritation. I know everyone is waiting with bated breath.
When I went for gas this morning at the Esso station, I had to wait to get in because it was so backed up with people queued for the Tim Horton’s drive through. FFS it’s a gas station and it makes me nuts having to wait for people to buy coffee who are too freaking lazy to get out of their cars to walk in.
Mind you, drive throughs get on my tit’s anyway. It’s no wonder our collective national asses are getting bigger by the day when we can’t even get out of our cars and walk in for a cup of coffee. This doesn’t even cover what the idling emissions are doing to the air.
It reminds me of the Disney movie Wall E.
Okay, I feel better now.
Good luck this weekend ![]()

Nice lifting yesterday ouroboro_s!
Thanks for the introductions yesterday. Even Court isn’t as much of a bitch as she seems online, unless someone forgets to toast her begal! ![]()

Thanks very much. I still have to update with my videos and lift numbers.
I don’t know about you but I am still so freaking baked.
It was great meeting you. I’m glad you had as much fun as the rest of us and it only gets better especially when you can get another T-Nation guy to seat your bench shirt and put his hands up your singlet.
Check the OPA website and let us know which one you plan to hit next. I’m doing nothing until nationals in April.
FWIW, Court really is pretty mean. She was on her good behaviour and the bagel incident is only the tip of the iceberg. She does, however, kick ass at lifting.

Yeah, I was completely wiped yesterday and I’m still pretty sore today.
As for a next meet, I may do the April one in St. Thomas.
