No suit yet, I’m hoping soon though. I pulled 230 at the provincials, but died after that, the 240 budged an inch or so. Mentally, I knew I had earned what I came for and was ready to call it a day on the third attempt. DLing kills me, and fast too. I can squat heavy doubles/singles for a long time before getting tired, but a few heavy DL’s make me cry like a puppy.

Hahahaha maybe the boy has finally moved on from me to you :stuck_out_tongue: Too bad he won’t be lifting, but I see that Pete’s on the list. That means the boy can help both of us and him. Bartl will definitely be around as well, as will Sayjin if we need someone else to put to work.

He can help dress me and tell me what’s going on and where I am on the list and whatnot. He did it for my first meet and did a very good job at it. I was surprised at the calming effect he had for me. He might have a different effect on you though. Who knows.

I talked to him last night and I think he’s going to join my gym. He needs to start doing more.

It’s too bad if he isn’t lifting because I think he really needs it right now. I don’t think Matt will be lifting either so perhaps he could help as well.

I went to the chiropractor yesterday afternoon. I’ve been having a fair amount of lower back pain. Our coach thinks my back hurts since my hips come up too fast when I’m deadlifting and my back takes the lions share of the load.

In fact it is a reoccurence of an issue I had last year. My hips are too loose from having kids. Therefore when I’m squatting and deadlifting my glutes aren’t firing properly and my back is taking too much of the load. She adjusted me and I’m continuing with the exercises I did last year.

Once this is sorted in the next couple of weeks, my lifts should actually improve. Yay!

She said my hips rising too fast are a result of the issue, not a cause of the issue.

So I tried out my new bench shirt. It’s going to take a fair amount of effort to break it in. Pete and the boy helped me put it on. In some countries they’d have to marry me now. I hung on for dear life while Pete hammered away at me and the shirt and the boy got the belt on. First I tried push ups but I couldn’t get anywhere near the floor. We loaded the bar with 135 and I just tried to pull it down to my chest. I tried three times and it got closer each time but it hurt like fuck. I’ll have a go again on Sunday and see if I can get it to touch.

Claire, it you have any suggestions for breaking in, I’d love to hear them but I suspect it’s time and work.
