Court, Did you do the bf% thing? If so, how did it go?
Yeah I did. I’m depressed. Not about the overall number, but about some of the particular results. I’ll email you tomorrow. For now I’m continuing the rest of the evening I’m allowing myself to sulk while Bartl listens to me whine and complain and reassure me that I’m not fat. Tomorrow I will be okay, but tonight, I sulk.[/quote]
Sulking can be healing some times. I’m waiting to hear that the depressing result is that he is a dink to hang out with and you’ve lost interest.
The meet in January is at the Quality Inn. Great hotel with very good food. Pizza is excellent. Breakfast starts at 7AM and the breakfast special is only $2.99. The really big breakfast is $6.99. Bowling alley with 40 lanes and the beer is cold.
Weigh in at 7:00 am. My weight class is 56 kg and I weighed in at 54.7 (120lbs) so a few lbs under.
Everything went as planned. I got all my attempts exluding my final bench:
Lifts were:
Squat - 85 kg (187lbs)
92.5 kg (203.5 lbs)
97.5 lg (214.5lbs)
Bench - 42.5 kg (93.5lbs)
47.5 kg (104.5lbs)
52.5 kg (115.5 lbs)fail
Deadlift - 97.5 lg (214.5lbs)
106kg (233.2lbs)
115 kg (253 lbs)
My total for the meet is 260.0 kgs (573 lbs)
I’m pretty please since this is my second meet and I didn’t use a shirt.
I picked up a Titan fury at the meet and will start training with that for the Niagara meet.
I had a ball and met a ton more people there.
I will post some videos and pictures tomorrow. Court was the videographer and by the time we left she had at least one guys number. For someone that didn’t lift, she left a much more lasting impression than those of us that did
I forgot, I placed first since I was the only one in my weight class.
Also, I added 35 kg (77lbs) to my total from the London meet in September and got my class II. I need to add an additional 30 kg (66lbs) to make class I (senior). I’m planning to do that this spring. It should be achievable.
I achieved my other goal, to break 300 kg based on Wilks. Mine was 311.6 kg(687lbs). I realise that sounds a bit lame but when I’m lifting at 120lbs I’ll take what I can get Next year I’ll break 300 for real.
My final squat attempt. 97.5 kg. If I find out I’m pregnant, I have a suspicion, the baby will look like the spotter behind me. I’m so completely in my own head, it wasn’t until I watched the video that I realised he was even there.
My second bench that passed. 47.5 kg. It was so easy I’m surprised I couldn’t get my final one up. Believe it or not, my ass is actually touching the bench.
Finally, my final deadlift attempt at 115kg. This came up amazingly easily.
The centre judge is the guy that sold me the Titan bench shirt. I’m sure all the Canadians will recognise Louis Levesque.
My goals for Niagara are to add 10lbs each to squat and deadlift and whatever I can add by just incorporating a shirt for bench. I’ll see how it works out for me.
Wow! Three great lifts! The squat looked like all the others: down to parallel, yawn, “oh, I guess I’ll stand up now . . . hey! there was a barbell on my back!” Great bench press, looked like a training lift. I’m also surprised that the 3d one didn’t go up. Deadlift was also anticlimatic. Great pull, never in any doubt whatsoever. Really nice job! You’ve got a lot more poundage in you; the 66 pounds you need, plus some more, will come with continued effort. You’ve been working hard and it shows. Good job!!!
