A Cheerful Misanthrope

On the failed squat, it looks like the weight was a bit forward through most of the descent. Notice how just before you hit your bottom position, the weight suddenly shifts back a few cm. It should have been back there from the start. Be strong at the meet.

Edit: I hope you don’t mind the unsolicited advice.

You look soooooooooooo pretty in this picture! I mean it! I’m going to show it to some of my single guy friends and I’m sure they’ll agree that your face is just stunning.

PS. “Yeah you’d be one of those girls we’d say had a great personality” (re: the boy)

Thanks for the feedback. I was actually looking for people to give me some.

I see what you mean. All I know is that it didn’t feel right on my back at the bottom. It almost felt like my shoulders started to round. Perhaps that was from the shifting weight.

I’m pretty sure I can get that at the meet. I just need to stay focused.

Okay so my makeup ran. We all have those days.

Not only do I have a kick ass personality, I can dance too.

Speaking of the boy, are you planning to make him a man on the drive down for his birthday? hahahaha. I’m funny.

I agree.

When I got up this morning my weight was 119lbs. Right now I’m sitting between the 52 (114lbs) and 56 kg (123lbs)_weight class. There is no way I would want to compete at 52 kg. That’s way too light for my height if I have any type of muscle.

Bill told me my job this week is to eat more, gain weight and rest. Too bad he didn’t through in ‘smoke a fat one’.

smoking a fat one is a given!

it must be great to get to gain going into a meet.

best of luck hitting ur numbers!

any luck on the period yet??

In theory, put on a few pounds is good. However, it’s not like I’m suddenly digging into all the Christmas stuff that’s already made an appearance. I typically don’t eat a lot of junk so it would just make me feel like crap. I get a hungover feeling when I do. Right now I content myself with smelling the cookies and licking the wrappers.

Mostly I’ve just upped the quantities of oatmeal, beans & rice and stuff. I’ve been eating a lot of beans, rice and ground beef. It’s pretty calorie dense, has a lot of protein and fibre. Plus it makes me super popular at work

Still no sign of the period. It’s coming on 12 weeks now. I may bite the bullet and go to my idiot doctor after the meet.

Can you please limit the quantities of beans beginning Wednesday? I’d like the boy and I to survive the trip to Ottawa in your minivan without having to mutiny you overboard. I don’t think I could handle driving the rest of the way with just the boy so I’d end up in Ottawa by myself with no one to watch lift…

Not only am I not stopping on Wednesday, I’m bringing some with me to eat while I drive. Seriously. Okay, not while I’m driving but for later. I’m trying to figure out food that is transportable so I don’t have to eat out.

So far I have:
-whole wheat bread/peanut butter
-bananas, oranges
-protein bars
-Kashi fibre bars
-chicken breast
-Cottage cheese
-Carrots/celery

That’s a fair amount. Maybe I’ll leave the beans at home.

Good luck Saturday at your meet!!!

Thanks very much. I appreciate the thought.

We have another one Jan. 24 - 7 weeks later. Court will be in that one too and hopefully Dianab.

I’m sending in my entry tonight. I’ll PM you later about the train info. (by later I mean if I am still awake after finishing my second job at 10 pm) But I’m coming and I’m bringing a squat suit with me.
I’ve been meaning to catch up with you, the openers look great. And you’ll hit that 215 squat, just get in the zone and focus.
I hope you’re not too bored this week, at least you get to train on Wednesday. And eat. Lucky girl.

I have a friend from Alberta who is in the 148 Opens and will be competing at Nationals in April.

Just fyi.

That’s pretty cool. I’m leaning more towards attending them myself. Moosejaw is, after all party central.

I suspect she will have more competition than I will. Women in Masters I at 123lbs are slim on the ground.

Yay, I’m so glad to hear that. There will be a number of T-Nation people there. I’m bringing a shirt to this one in addition to the squat suit.

If I go to Moosejaw I’m getting a Centurion squat suit and retiring the Z suit.

Nice!

I’m super excited diana!

T-Nation peeps: Ouroboro, Dianab, myself lifting. Bartl, Sayjin, Todd (he better come) as cheerleaders.

How cool is that. However, as I read the list, I realise that all the men are members of Courts harem. I need to get me one of them too. I’m taking applications.

Court, Did you do the bf% thing? If so, how did it go?

[quote]ouroboro_s wrote:

Yeah I did. I’m depressed. Not about the overall number, but about some of the particular results. I’ll email you tomorrow. For now I’m continuing the rest of the evening I’m allowing myself to sulk while Bartl listens to me whine and complain and reassure me that I’m not fat. Tomorrow I will be okay, but tonight, I sulk.

Hey O, you got a size 29 Z-suit right? How tight is that thing? The fit guide says size 29 for 123-138lbs, I’m at 133 and a bit. Do I get the size 30 or do you think the 29 will fit?
(I’ve got a big squat ass to get it over, but my thighs are about 22").
Entry form is done, check is written and I’m mailing it in tomorrow.

I got the size 29. Now I wish I’d gotten the 28. At first the 29 was pretty tough to get on but now it’s pretty easy so I’m not seeing the results in carryover I was hoping to. If I were you I’d go for the 29 but be ready to swear and sweat to get it on the first few times. The first time I tried it, I thought I’d never get it over my knees.
