A Cheerful Misanthrope

I fixed that for you.

I think your chiro is hitting on you, he probably knows you want to gain weight and I’m pretty sure that you are gaining muscle, the videos you have put up show some damn nice looking shoulders, he is right. You just take his awkward attempts at complementing you wrong.

Anyway, good work.

I agree with Free… the chiro wants to adjust another bone in your body… ahem nudge nudge… wink wink

If he ever did, I can assure you he doesn’t after I insulted him at nationals and told him to break up with his girl friend and not to be a wussy.

Court goes to the same guy and she can confirm that he’s a great chiro but a bit of an oddball.

Not only that, but if his actions/words indicate that he wants in O’s pants, he’s a monster whore. He puts his hands down my shorts without even asking anymore! And I doubt he’s more polite with the other lifters

I can only assume he washes them first. Otherwise that’s way more closeness than I care to have with a lot of people.

Every Chiro is a strange person…

but it does sound like he has roman hands and russian fingers.
I stopped going to the one guy I liked- he only takes cash
US health care sucks with chiropractic etc.

hmmm… wonder if he will buy me dinner first? lol!

I was under the impression that all chiropractors were a waste of time, what with all the back and neck cracking, but it sounds like your guy is helping you out with muscular pain/issues. How’d you manage to find one that knows so much about lifting, etc? Wandering hands aside, he sounds like a great resource I wouldn’t mind having access to.

He’s certified in both Chiro and Active Release. He uses more of the ART stuff with the lifters. The only “chiro” like stuff he’s done on me is tractioning my back when I’ve had a buldged disc.

As for how we found him, all the PLers use him so his name was given to us as well.

You and Court changing the names of your logs has me dazed and confused.

I know you did it on purpose.

I changed mine on purpose but the timing, while odd, is purely coincidental. It was funny. She changed hers about 5 seconds after I changed mine. We really must think alike. That scares me.

I really thought it was planned because you both made your requests seconds apart.

Is there a full moon or something?

Wow that’s pretty creepy. I spent some time today figuring out what I wanted to change mine too. When I decided I hadn’t even noticed yours had been changed.

Next thing you know, your periods will be synched up. Who’s the Alpha chick in this forum anyway?

My money’s on the girl!

Thursday May 28, GL Burlington

Warm up
15-20 minutes elliptical, mobility
I also did the exercises mandated by the chiro to activate my lats on the right side. In addition, I added 3x3 rdl @115 and 3x3 bar roll outs based on the article “Add 20 lbs to you lifts”. I’m not sure whether they helped of not. I don’t imagine it hurt but it wasn’t a stellar squat session

A Squat
45x10
95x5
135x5
165x5
185x2x5
145x2x7

I will post a video of the second set of 185 with my diagnosis of the issues.

B Bench
45x10
65x5
85x3x5 - pause each rep
85x2x7 - focus on exploding off the chest

C pronated grip low incline db press
25x5 too light
35x2x5

D1 Face pull
1x10
2x10x40

D2 Behind the neck band pull apart
3x10

I didn’t feel done so I did an additional set of squats
135x14

I chatted for a few minutes with one of the regulars at the gym and he mentioned something about a rim job when I was done squatting. I thought it was sweet of him to be thinking about my vehicle although I think my rims are fine.

This is my second set of 185 x 5. It looks as fucked up as it felt. The 4th rep is high and the 5th rep looks like a half squat. If you watch the top of my back as the set progresses, it looks like my shoulders are hunching forward more and more forcing me to fold in half. This is caused by the pain I’ve been getting in my back on the right side. The heavier the weight, the more intense the pain.

I’m trying to retract my shoulder blades and stay tight but at the same time, I’m leaning forward and hunching to relieve the pain in that one spot. It’s difficult to explain but the more I lean back into the bar, the worse it is. By the final rep, I was struggling to breathe because it felt like I was being stabbed when I breathed in deeply.

I’d better get that lat sorted out. The first set was tough and a bit painful but not so bad.

This past Monday I was my the subject of my nine year old daughter’s show and tell. She took some of the pictures I have from lifting at nationals. I gather that all the little third grade boys and girls were suitably impressed.

I was quite glad she took them. Apparently she’d been feeling bad that I am about 10 years older than a lot of the other mommies and is worried that I’m going to fall to pieces or that her friends at school thought I’m this decrepit old woman.

All the cute young mommies can bite me

Ok
check out homeboy in the vid adjusting his hat and rapping while his friend looks like he is sky humping
the smith machine.

Did you do the thoracic foam rolling- and should you have squatted right after the chiro?
Your set up looked solid- walk out too, reps 1 to 3 looked fine rep 4 and 5

chalk it up to having a jacked up back

your arms and shoulders look awesome!
