A Caveman's Quest for a 100kg OHP

PM: 24kg KB swing 3x40, snatch 5x10

fuck, my legs havn’t been this sore since I started training

In.

Good shit going on in here.

How far off that 100kg press are you?

are you aware that your forearm is at least as large as your upper arm? pretty awesome

Jaice - aint got a fucking clue

Hastalles - yep, they were pretty pumped after deads that day!

PM: Squats 5x7 140kg - warmups were hard, actual working set weren’t too bad

and because i have no imagination: calves and band pull-aparts

Legs are getting used to the squatting volume

FG DB clean+Press 27.5kg 7x5 - easy

DB row 65kg 7x5 - easy

Looked at a brand new model ford ranger pickup today for work, test drove and looked at spec. might have it by Aug 5th - cant wait!

Was wondering what do you do for work?

Gardening/ Landscaping/ consultation/ design etc: www.plewsgardendesign.co.uk (partner in)

work messed up end of the week training, so restarted today, adding a bit to the weights

Fat grip db clean+press 4x9 22.5kg - still easy, good for form practice though
DB row 4x9 57.5kg easy
Squat 135kg 4x9, good stuff

If I ever need my gardening done Ill call you. Sounds like you get all your cardio done at work then, right?

The stuff you do is really interesting mate. Forgive me if you’ve already explained this but what’s the goal/aim/function of your training?

I’ve noticed you don’t seem to much chest/arms etc but quite a lot on back/shoulders/legs. Is there a reason for that or is that just what you enjoy?

My guess would be a 100kg OHP

lol. yeah, i just don’t really care for bench, and much prefer OHP variations. I do eventually want to do some amateur strongman comps, but thats for when i improve my strength to weight ratio.
Arms - oversight by me really, trying to increase their frequency though

fat grip DB C+P 26kg 5x7
strict db ohp 35kg x3
DB row 62.5kg 5x7

would have done some decline skull crushers, but the bench was missing its pads for some reason.

In other news - our accountant has ok’d the pickup! should have it by the end of next week

I meant besides that.

sometimes it works out like that. On Monday i was digging out tree stumps all day, so thats certainly cardio, but just weeding etc isn’t.

KB swing x20, snatch x20
DB snatch 40kg x3 - so easy

Squats 145kg 5x7 - easy

Fucked about with calves, farmers walks and rear delts

So why don’t you bench? It wouldn’t hurt your pressing if you added some benching in there?

probably not, i just can’t be bothered. I’d much rather do ohp.

also, fuck this weather. 30+ degrees is too hot for anything!

Count your blessings you don’t have to train outside. My pale northern european ass can’t take this shit too much longer…

At least you’re not in Cumbria. It was shit and grey today… for a change.

Agreed. When the heat messes with your ability to sleep, it’s too hot.

Send some heat down under. Its been 4 degrees celsius here every morning for the past week!

so its been cold in Aus? lol

What is it about thursday and friday that seem s mess up training? I snapped the gear selector cable in the van thursday morning and my dad has borrowed my car to go on holiday - so no work, but lots of shit to sort out. luckily its cheap to repair, but not till monday afternoon. Then on friday we were at the car dealership for ages hammering out our lease contract for the pickup, and the guy found one that we wanted already in the country, so we should be getting it next week!

Decided to do all 7x5 today and 10x3 tomorrow

FG DB C+P 28kg 7x5 - easy
DB row 65kg 7x5 - easy
Squat 155kg 7x5 - easy, form felt real good too
