I don’t know, but I’m sure you can FB them and ask. I’m just gonna see what happens on Saturday 4/16.
Cool! I might pop by my next weekend and check em out.

WHAT?
there’s ALL kinds of pretty right there!
all kinds of pretty -
yep~
I love the pic of you carrying the giant rock!
And the one of your bubble butt on another thread is hot…
Humm…maybe I should pick up more big rocks.
My ass hopes to look like your ass…eventually. ![]()
Let’s see.
Friday, I squatted to a few triples at 225, no belt, and then had fun playing with farmer’s walk handles. These are 112 lbs per hand, and I walked them five times, approximately 100 feet each time.
I wrapped athletic tape on the smooth edge of the hammer curl bars, which are 22 lbs a piece, and then added 90 lbs of plates. It was really an effective way to get some farmer walking in.
Saturday, we drove up to a nice sandy little lake. We found a beach to pull up onto, the dog loved it. The water is still too cold for the fish to really be active, but I got some really awesome screwed-up sunscreen burns.
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday I worked. I was at meetings until 830-9 on Monday and Tuesday.
Yesterday, I finally got back into the gym.
Squats, up to 1x245 no belt, then up to 1x290 with belt. I have watched Brute closely because she’s such an awesome squatter, and have concluded that the reason she squats more raw than me is because she’s so fucking hard core. I puss out. She doesn’t. I need to get me some of that.
GMs, 3x6x135, 3x3x185
GHRs, 5x6
Strict DB Rows, 6x60, 65, 70, 75
DB floor press, 8x35, 6x37.5, 6x40, 6x42.5, 6x45
Chain/thick bar grip work - deadlift and hold 60, 65, 70, 75s with the chain and the 1 3/4" pipe.
Not a super intense workout, but I just kind of did the stuff I have fun with. I’d thought about deadlifting, it seems like it’s been forever since I formally deadlifted, but I just didn’t feel it.
I acquired a new gym stalker, too. So funny. 23-25 year old kid, doing decline, incline, and then flat bench, no more than 155 on any of em, he probably weighs 210 (and is not lean, but not obese). First, he sees me squatting, sees the plates, and then doesn’t stop staying for a second as I move to my other weird exercises. Freak!
!! WHO’s this Brute chick?! ?? I just try to impress you! :D!
Oh, and my squats these days are all to a “box” made of six step risers (3 per side) with a 2x6 on top. If my ass kisses that box, I have made depth.
i heard ass kisses and came over. the box involved makes me happy, as well.
carry on.
Just read your writeup on the strongman comp. Great job! my first few times with a yoke where very similar to that. It takes a little time under the implement to get used too.
So, Friday, I bummed around the gym for a bit, but then Saturday was the big fun day!
Went to Colorado Pro Gym, for the Heavy Haulers team practice. Yay!
I got there around 9:08, saw Junior, one of the dudes I recognized from the show, he pointed me off to the back where they train. Up front were a dozen figure chicks practicing posing in thongs. I threw cheeseburgers at them.
Met up with D-rail, got started vaguely warming up shoulders. I asked him how they went about doing this stuff, he said, “Well, first you show up late, so you’re doing great so far!”
I was the only chick, until D-Rail’s wife showed up, and one of the dude’s wives was there, we got her into the yoke and tire flipping later.
Playing with the log clean and press. My log was 90#, and we worked on the form/method for cleaning it, rolling it up the body, and pressing it, with the push press. I did 90 a bunch, then tried 140 a few times. I could clean it but not press it.
Then, outside for keg tossing. I tried to toss a keg 2x over a 8’ bar, but the first time wasn’t high enough, and the second time wasn’t far enough back. Women toss propane tanks, the kegs are too big and awkward for the most part. My legs don’t spread wide enough, believe it or not.
Since I was not really any good at tossing kegs, D-Rail’s wife, Sarah, grabbed me and we worked on the yoke.
I FIGURED IT OUT!!!
Several attempts, with it sliding down my back, even with just the 170lb yoke. I thought I had set it up really high, until Sarah said, “Try this. Get in front of the yoke, and walk backwards until your neck lines up with it.” I did this, and holy crapoly I figured it out! It stays up! I can walk! It is SO much higher than I realized.
We did several walk/runs with 260 and 350, from 20 to 80 feet. Good stuff, I was thrilled. Still not expert, but I have got it going in the right direction.
THEN we flipped tires. 350 was easy peasy. Then I did 500 a few times, working on form and figuring out what leg goes where. Then I tried the 750 - didn’t move an inch. I was gassed!
Then, I can haz cheeseburger.
Great training, my back, hips, and forearms are sore. This is a shit ton of fun, hope I can get out there more often than not.
sounds like you had a great time!
awesome!

I mentioned I had a couple chick friends who might be interested in doing strongman, she said she’d try to organize a womens’ training day some Saturday. I will keep you updated if you’re interested!
this was my favorite part. the humor, im sure, would be worth the wasted cheeseburgers.
the rest of it sounds like SO much fun, in that beat to ever living hell kind of way.
ya, how sore were you?
This seems to suit you though!
My hammies were already sore from gym the days before Saturday. After Saturday, the soreness was mid-to-upper back, hips, and delts. The back and hips were really bad, but not debilitating. The only slightly scary thing was feeling like my left hip was going to go out, but I think that’s okay now…
yeah! let me know how the chick group comes along!
that last day of training sounds like crazy fun ![]()
