Yep, title pretty much says it all. Done by Rob “TT” McCray at IPA Worlds 6/29/08. Sick.
How many guys have done 900 besides the 3 in the 1000 lb club and Luyando, Lattimer and Thompson?

I can’t believe how fast he explodes it up for the first 2/3 of the movement. Truly awesome.

Well, that’s the effect of his magic shirt, obviously.
Gear reverses the natural strength curve of all lifts. The bottom portion of the bench is supposed to be the hardest. Nobody moves faster at the bottom than they do at the top in a natural bench.

Tiny Meeker is one! I think there’s more tho… I imagine it’s listed on PLwatch.

Most, yeah, but not everybody.
And as far as teh “magic shirt” comment, lets not turn this into a “raw vs gear” thread. If you want to do that, just start a thread titled “raw vs gear”

Or do a search for the other gillion threads that already exist.
We found the answer… It’s 42.
Just another chump who benches more then he squats
honestly that is ridiculous bench amazing strength.
I can’t believe how solid he is handling that weight. He got a pretty shitty hand-off on that 900 and appeared absolutely unfazed. The speed of that press was awesome.
Definitley one of the best ‘big’ benches I have watched. That guy is a monster. Anybody know what he weighed in at?

i find the bottom third to be the easiest and i lift raw, please dont make it a raw vs geared thread
Hes a fucking beast, I’m prety sure he weighed in at 370.5
That’s pretty amazing after a very uneven handoff.
I’m still most impressed by Donnie Thompson’s 900 in a full meet.

The hand off was bad because one of the side spotters was holding on to the bar.

It would be an amazing coincidence if it wasn’t now wouldn’t it?

It doesn’t matter why it was bad. The point is on a third attempt a shitty hand-of can really screw things up. That extra bit of effort to get back in position, assuming you can even do it, can be very costly.
It is amazing to me how easily he handles that type of weight.
Hes just defending Matt Rhodes, most likely out of fear.

My post wasn’t intended as an attack, just an observation.
It happens sometimes. It’s part of competing.
