I didn’t say that this gentleman was doing it wrong, I just asked why he was eating so much.
I guess I didn’t realize that 8,000 calories for a 180 lb individual was the norm on this site.
Also, no where did I say that a pregnant woman should eat as much as an active bodybuilder, but rather she only needs 500 more than her MAINTENANCE calories. Key word there.
Do you really think that repairing muscles used a little bit in a workout involves more protein & calories than creating a human?

His attitude and his mentality is better than yours.
I mean, seriously, you aren’t exactly shocking us with that intellect.

Let’s rename T-Nation to ‘New Age Nation’.

This is a discussion forum. What you look like does matter, but if what is in your head does nothing but bring other people down, we could gladly do without you.
You “and friends” need to chill on that shit and grow the fuck up. Too many people have said the same thing lately.
No one gives a shit about your abs if that is all you have to offer here.

That again jsut points out maintence calories varies between people. Just because a virgin grows at a 2500 cals doesnt mean everyone else does. I really do feel bad for the poor people that gain on such low calories. I would die eating that little. My stomach would shrivel.
so you’d rather be in a situation where your requirement for growth exceeds your capacity? shouldn’t you be in favour of life being…“easier”???
Dont understand what you mean growth excedes my capacity? What capacity are you reffering to? And no why would i want life to be easy? I love challenges. And most that enjoy training do not like things easy other wise why would they train?
your physical capacity…5000cal to a 150lb person is a whole different game than it is for a 220lb person. so apparently you enjoy staring down a full plate of food to go with no appetite and an already full stomach??

What if I have some 18 inch guns to go with my six pack bro? Wanna muscle worship me, bro?

I really don’t see what you are getting at. Making the most progress isn’t always comfortable or easy…so what are you talking about?
from the start to now, I have stared at many plates of food when I wasn’t really hungry and still forced myself to eat. That is why people know I lift by looking at me now.
Professor X wrote:
If both approaches work, why is the OBGYN Proud virgin telling the op he is doing it wrong and that women having babies is related to a guy building muscle as far as caloric requirements?
You would have to ask him that question. I was/am speaking for myself.
Why aren’t you speaking out about that but seem to find fault with every post of mine?
In regards to his pregnant lady comment I said that it was interesting and off topic. I don’t find fault with every post of yours, I’ve just responded in this thread with my point of view on the subject. I think I’ve stayed on topic so far (except the pregnancy part where I admitted it was off topic)
I’m not speaking for Proud Virgin… But I stated that my opinion is that both methods work.
gregron is a refreshingly reasonable poster, I like him.
gregron for mod. Seriously.

Not nessecarilly.
It all comes down to the individual. Maintenance calories aren’t decided by body weight alone.

what i’m getting at is that i don’t get why someone would PREFER to HAVE to eat tons of food to grow as opposed to less. if you have the appetite, great, but if you don’t, its hard work. i know its hard work, i’ve done it before, and still do it now to a lesser extent though.
it all comes down to wanting something bad enough. i don’t see the point in picking fights with people who don’t see the world as you do.

Might want to up your reading comprehension or actually read the whole thread. I never stated that i stuff myself beyond my capacity. I have a bottomless pit of a stomach. 5000cals in a couple hours is not a problem. Normally still hungry after it. My first PWO meal is 2000-2500cals and its gone in under 20min and i get hungry again very shortly after. So no i dont stare down my food i just inhale it. At least the first meal. I slow down my eating after that to stretch it out for 4 hours. If i wanted i could easily put down all my food in under 2 hours. And that is 5000-65000cals 700g carbs 300 + g pro. 80% of those cals are what most would consider “clean” rice oatmeal potatoes

No doubt about this either.
There will be bans…oh yes, there WILL be bans.
Why do women naturally have a higher bodyfat percentage than men?

Perhaps Franks maintenance is 7500 calories. For an active young male, that’s not unreasonable. Not to mention we’re only talking about 2 months here. No one’s saying YOU need to eat this way.
Are you one of those people who get all pissed off when you see people having fun?
