so you’d rather be in a situation where your requirement for growth exceeds your capacity? shouldn’t you be in favour of life being…“easier”???
Dont understand what you mean growth excedes my capacity? What capacity are you reffering to? And no why would i want life to be easy? I love challenges. And most that enjoy training do not like things easy other wise why would they train?
your physical capacity…5000cal to a 150lb person is a whole different game than it is for a 220lb person. so apparently you enjoy staring down a full plate of food to go with no appetite and an already full stomach??
Might want to up your reading comprehension or actually read the whole thread. I never stated that i stuff myself beyond my capacity. I have a bottomless pit of a stomach. 5000cals in a couple hours is not a problem. Normally still hungry after it. My first PWO meal is 2000-2500cals and its gone in under 20min and i get hungry again very shortly after. So no i dont stare down my food i just inhale it. At least the first meal. I slow down my eating after that to stretch it out for 4 hours. If i wanted i could easily put down all my food in under 2 hours. And that is 5000-65000cals 700g carbs 300 + g pro. 80% of those cals are what most would consider “clean” rice oatmeal potatoes
i never said you stated anything…i gave you another perspective from someone that doesn’t have it as easy as you do…2000cal meal and i’m down for 6hrs at least. maybe you might want to read what I said…that if you have to capacity for it, then who cares.

dude, i wasn’t even picking a fight with you, wtf!?!?? i was actually addressing PX; either way, what does it matter if it ain’t hard for you.

does EVERY SINGLE THREAD around here have to deteriorate into bitching?? actually it ain’t just this site, its every site on bodybuilding/iron game. unbelieveable, lol!!!

Yes, yes it does and the sooner you accept it the better off you’ll be.

LOL

Just try not to get caught up in it. There is good info on this site.

Think about it this way: Your dog just swallowed your wife’s wedding ring… you’re gonna have to sift through some poop some times in order to find a diamond.

I really don’t see what you are getting at. Making the most progress isn’t always comfortable or easy…so what are you talking about?

from the start to now, I have stared at many plates of food when I wasn’t really hungry and still forced myself to eat. That is why people know I lift by looking at me now.
what i’m getting at is that i don’t get why someone would PREFER to HAVE to eat tons of food to grow as opposed to less. if you have the appetite, great, but if you don’t, its hard work. i know its hard work, i’ve done it before, and still do it now to a lesser extent though.

it all comes down to wanting something bad enough. i don’t see the point in picking fights with people who don’t see the world as you do.
One good reason to desire a body that needs more calories is the ease of dieting. To lose body fat, all I really had to do was cut out junk food. Also, it implies someone who can possibly even build muscle faster given they have a faster metabolism hopefully with less overall fat gain.

probably could have if they where not such sinewy muscleless bastards…ha ha hah !!!

Also, no where did I say that a pregnant woman should eat as much as an active bodybuilder, but rather she only needs 500 more than her MAINTENANCE calories. Key word there.

Do you really think that repairing muscles used a little bit in a workout involves more protein & calories than creating a human?
nobody else finds it ironic a virgin is telling us how to make a baby? LOL

plus if youre only using your muscles “a little bit”, youre doing it wrong. yes building muscle requires more calories than making a baby. i guarantee it. i doubt babies raise your EPOC.

is that not similar to a catholic priest having you go to marriage conseling before you get hitched ???

or would it be more similar to a child molester asking a priest for absolution, ha ha hah hah hah !

I guess I didn’t realize that 8,000 calories for a 180 lb individual was the norm on this site.

Perhaps Franks maintenance is 7500 calories. For an active young male, that’s not unreasonable. Not to mention we’re only talking about 2 months here. No one’s saying YOU need to eat this way.

Are you one of those people who get all pissed off when you see people having fun?
7500 is not unreasonable for an “active young male”? No wonder America has an obesity problem. LMFAO at that…jesus christ.

It is. I’ve done over a hundred metabolic tests and even among PT’s or those with high physical activity jobs, the highest RMR+activity I’ve accounted for were in the 4500-5200 range for maintenance. Granted, there is some room for error there through activity level estimates, but the RMR test is damn accurate.

Frank doesn’t live in America. In addition to spending 2 hours a day in the gym, I bet he walks more…
Jesus, it’s only 2 months. Like I said, my brother was eating 10,000 calories a day through high school and college as a division I athlete.

Not sure if that first statment was directed at me, i dont feel we were fighting merely discussing. I just wanted to make sure we both understood eachother and what we had said. Very hard to determine who is talking to who. Since you had quoted me i figured you were directing comments at me not PX.

But we seem to be on the same page. I was just pointing out that there are people myself and it seems like to a lesser extent Frank, that can eat a crap ton and not be overlly full.

But the deterioration from discussion to name calling happens quite often. I think one of the main reasons this happens is the chaotic nature of forum discussion. Its very hard to understand and communicate the correct tone and intent in a message. So there are lots of misunderstandings/misinterpretations that turn into personal attacks and very defensive posts.

Back on topic.

There was a post a while back that PX made on the body adapting to calorie intake. I think a lot of people underestimate that. The body is miraculous in its ability to adapt to different stimuli. Peopel always talk about metabolic slow down when dieting but not many talk about it in the reverse. Metabolic increase as more calories are added. Some peoples body seem to be quite good at it. I know personally mine seems to be quite good at it. A large meal energizes me like crazy and I can feel my body tmep increase. This is my body expending these calories and upping my metabolism.

I tihnk many people either do not realize how the bodey can do these things or they just never push their body to the limit to find these things. The body can handle and adapt to so many things but mnay do not have to willpower or drive to push those limits and find where they are. This goes for training and eating and other aspects as well. Just some random thoughts

How many young males that are weight lifting 4+ times a week plus being active outside of that are contributing to the obesity epidemic?

Do you really find it that hard to beleive that some people move around enough and workout hard enough to eat this many cals and barely gain weight?

These are serious ?'s and i am not trying to attack or be condecending i relaly want your thoughts. I think you are really underestimating the human body and how being active can relaly burn calories
