815x1 Off 1" Blocks at 198

So pulled this off today. One step closer to pulling 800+ from the floor. I’m heavier than I want to be so I’m going to try and drop my weight closer to 194-195 lbs walking around weight. No straps, done with hookgrip.

Well, that’s just silly.

I’m so confused. That height looks so negligible. I’d have said fuck it and just tried to pull it from the floor LOL.

Every inch counts

Working my way down. Pulled it from 2" a few weeks ago. A lot easier to take an inch away instead of 2. Then from the floor then half calibrated plates then all calibrated. I didn’t know how well it was going to move. I probably could’ve pulled it from the floor though.

I’ve seen world record benches, squats, and deadlifts that would likely have failed had they required an additional inch for the ROM. If the ROM is 2 feet, an extra inch is asking for an extra 4% - a significant percentage when we’re talking about true maximal effort.

He is pulling sumo, so an inch takes about half the ROM away :stuck_out_tongue:

I have to say, 8 plates (plus change) - with the bar bending and the clips barely holding on - looks pretty bad ass haha
