780 Reasons You Should Know Cocoa Espresso

oh, sup?

ah, stats for psychology. the reason i didn’t do a psychology major. the people who can do the stats seem to sometimes get in on publications / pick up extra paid work in virtue of that, so something worth getting your head around if you can. my heart goes out to you grappling with that stuff :-/ [/quote]

Nikki - Are you a psych major or just taking stats? I was a School Psychologist back before I took a hiatus to raise some rug rats. Many stats classes under my belt. The key to stats, or any math for that matter, is making use of the TA, math lab, tutor, what have you. The downside was when the stats TA was named Fook and I couldn’t understand his broken English. Beautiful girls with hot bods like yourself can always find some guy to tutor them for free.

Nikki, just keep on swimming. See you back at it soon!

Huh. 2 Fooks in 2 different logs. Who’da thunk?

It can be stated with 95% confidence that Cocoa Espresso is ‘da bomb’.

<— lover of stats and overall general quant nerd. If you need help with anything let me know! Especially if you start running stats. I’m pretty much the shit when it comes to that stuff. Just sayin’

Glad youre hanging in there through rough times girlie! What on earth possessed you to take 6 classes? Such an overachiever! HAH! And good on you for sneaking in some gym time. Sorry to say, but the iron does have to take a back seat to other important things like school and family/friends. On the plus side, your bf makes you breakfast…so yeah. Life’s looking up cupcake!

Miss you!

Dude, I feel your pain. Psych Stats killed me too back in 09…and Spring of 10…lol

If I prayed…I’d pray for you

Ah University life… I found that I enjoyed my last two years the most once I started taking the more specialized classes and finished up the annoying generic mandatiory classes.

I think they must make everyone persuing a science related degree take stats - kinda necessary for research. It is such a blur to me now though. Standard deviation, what?

Keep plugging away!

but only 3 fooks are significant!

keep kicking Uni-Ass Nikki!

hahaha looks like you are an overachiever when it comes to school too. If you are getting A’s in the homework then it shows you get what’s going on even if it doesn’t feel like it. I think stats are a major part of experiments / studies in any field that involves them. Necessary for analyzing the data. I know a couple psych majors that got in on publications in virtue of doing the stats analysis.

I know a bunch of psych researchers that get out of the stats on their publications by hiring someone else to do the stats analysis for them. Be nice to be able to do them even if you choose to opt out of them later, or decide not to do research. I’m not a math person at all (got some kinda weird dyslexia thing for number / spatial relations that sometimes gets me a bit with logic, too). You maths peoples are far far smarter than me. I’m in awe - seriously.

HI sweetcheeks! Hope you get a chance to hit the gym and then take some R&R time for yourself this weekend.

Isn’t it spring break yet? Been seeing a lot of the “home from college” crowd at the office lately.

Powerpuff, psych major… well, will be after this semester. Which flows into my response to the overachiever comments… ha! My ass. That’s my response to that.
Short story as to why I have to take 6 classes; had a dumb counselor tell me that I only needed 4 more classes to graduate, turned out that I really need 4 credits on top of those, so had to get in 4 more credits in order to graduate this semester.
Oh Powerpuff, back to you, I blush at your comment. Making time for a tutor will be difficult, I’ll see if I can ride out self-help until May. My problem is reasoning, I can do formulas and whatever, but if I don’t know how/where to apply it, I get frustrated.

Maschy, beauty and stats nerd, you’re a gift from the gods.
Thanks for the offer Dahlin

Ct, your hypothetical prayers means a lot.

LS, to this moment I don’t know how to calculate standard deviation, or what it even means. But bless the hearts of the people who put that feature in a calculator.

Ooh Alexus, it’s discalculia. However you spell it. You know, the number dyslexia thing.
I learned that froom George Lopez.
Yeah, I <3 Nick @ Nite

Veggie, it is Spring Break, sadly online classes don’t give two shits.

I’m happy to say that I got my workout mojo back. I was really scared for a second, I thought that I lost interest in training. I know that I love it, but enough to get back to it? If I took a break, will it mean that I’m not as driven as everyone else on here who deals with more shit than I?
I think too much, I know. I just needed the break, because I’m 100% committed to my goals again.

However committed I am though, still had school work so squeezed something in between studying. I morphed back into a Bodyrocker since it’s the most convenient, no equipment workouts available to me. I really want to buy some stuff for home, barbell, plates, yadda yadda but there’s no room for me to put that stuff, much less work out so it’ll be a waste of money ;(
So the plan is Bodyrock for days I can’t get to the gym, and squeezing as much work as I can in 1.5 max training sessions on the days I can get to the gym.

I have no idea where the time went, it’s almost 12. Argh.
Got grocery shopping tomorrow morning, have to return a book to Chegg and then I’ll see if I can get to the gym. I really want to do some legs <3

Good night Kool Katz

ooh. you are going to graduate this semester. i won’t congratulate you until it is done, but no wonder your head has been out of the training game with all the work you got for school going on. at least an end is in sight. as for your ‘overachiever my ass’ comment - remember it is your overachieving that built you that ass lol.

have a good night.

Girl you give me the tightest swole me ever get in me life

So cute hearing your Puerto Rican bf sing a reggae lyric

alexus- Graduating from one school, gotta transfer to another. I’m just getting my A.A. Once I get my Bachelors at UCF, I should be able to coach a sport in a high school or something to help with my sports psychology resume.
It’s a hard field to go into since no schools around here offer that program ;(
Hence my future is looking scary.

I finally made it to the gym today =D
Did legs, since I’ve been itching to do them for ever.
Sadly I got so nauseous during my workout, I took it as a sign to take it easy and not do my usual all-out effort.

First I played around with the orange bands with DLs. Sadly I’m a bit nervous about bands breaking, and they were still tight (that’s what he said!.. nevermind =D ) so I only got a few good reps with them. However, they were awesome and as expected, my posterior chain lit up. Made the next bandless RDLs very effective in the glute/hammies area

RDL (leaning more to the SLDL style)
95 x 12
135 x 15
155 x 12
135 x 15

Single Leg Extension
30 x 15
50 x 12
60 x 12
70 x 10
To really fatigue, did both legs 150 x 9

Leg Curls
20 partials at 90#
60 x 13
75 x 12

Leg Press
8 plates x 15 x 3 sets
10 plates x 15

Felt so nauseous, had to hold on to the machine for a sec here

Wobbled to the power rack to do GMs, but only got the warm-up set 95 x 10 before I had to give in to common sense.

3 sets on standing calf machine, then walked to the gas station for chocolate milk to put in my PP shake. That was the longest walk ever, I felt like I was going to collapse during the 5 minute journey. One of the cashiers was crying over some drama, so I hurried out quickly. Downed some milk fast, poured the rest in my shake and felt better instantly; fueled the walk home.

The sickness can be a result of not training legs in a short while, or poor pre-workout nutrition. Tomorrow I’ll have a PP shake with milk before training, seeing how I had 210 calories, probably about 8g protein only, a couple hours before the gym today. No-no.

Anyway, I’ll be back later to check out the logs since I haven’t done any school work already, and the daylight savings is against me

Nice killer leg session, bands are awesome…try em for tricep work and even benching. There also great for stretching, did you get the EFS ones? They have a graph of weight tension that really gages how much your lifting at certain heights…LOOKING GREAT IN THE PIC!

Nikki, you are such a beautiful girl. Are those cute cropped jeans that you are wearing? Its not quite crops weather yet, but I just bought 2 pairs to be ready when it hits!

Good leg day, but definitely watch that nutrition closer. You need to make the most of your gym time, and nausea can’t help.

Looking good there Nikki.

Glad to see you got in an awesome leg session

As for school, you are definitely a hard worker so there’s no doubt you’ll be fine. Just have to keep on chugging along.

YAY for some gym time between study time  And geez louise you are so pretty! Just look at you!!
Have a happy Sunday

Matty I don’t have a way to do them for benching. Unless I wrap 'em around DBs? But the ones at my gym are round and may roll. I don’t know, I bought the orange ones just for benching but now I have to figure out where/how to set it up.
Yep, they’re from EFS.

Thanks Kim, they were very comfy to work out in. An in Florida, it’s always cropped pants season.

Thank you kindly Aqua

I’m so happy right now, not only did I finish my statistics homework until April 1, but I passed my test with an 85.4% =D
I did the cabbage patch for like 5 minutes. Then I saw that I had an 80% in the class. Cabbage patch for 10 minutes.
That’s all I came back to say

K, I’m hungry, ciao.

Oh hiya coyote, shucks you know how to make a girl’s day even better <3
Happy Sunday back at cha

I know you dont want to flat bench but I love them for the incline bench and anchoring at the very bottom of one of the bench legs, I dont wrap them around DBs I know many people do but I like the firmness of attaching them to the bench

kinda like so…

Hey girl, sorry to hear that you were feeling icky during your session today. I’m sure the next one will be fine.

You are looking delicious in that pic, no wonder your PR was singing to you. I got one of my own and sometimes he sings to me, you know, when I see him (not much lately, makes veg a sad girl.) Yours sounds so sweet.

Hurray on the the stats class. Great job!

Let’s see a vid of the bands when you get it worked out.

Xoxoxoxo…
