65+ Training

Have you tried a brace?

I had back surgery at about L6 or so on my 30th birthday. I’ve had a few flareups over the years and I’ve found walking A LOT, and also soaking in bathtub in hot water eventually solves the problem. Also, a wet heating pad on the affected back area while lying on a hard pillow works really well. Just don’t fall asleep with the heating pad on.

1.5 mile power walk. Got another specialty bar for garage.

Building you a home gym? See you’re still doing the push ups. I’ve gotten back into them, by necessity.

1.5 mile walk w/5 sprints, sort of working up to straight jogging.

Garage gym steadily growing. Ordered 6 random weight pairs of dumbbells for September delivery. Hope to get rack into working order this weekend and start regular weight workouts next week if weights are delivered when promised. New world.

hel320, read yesterday that Baton Rouge has more positive virus tests than New Orleans.

Couple of Pat O’s hurricanes down on Bourbon Street and a dozen oysters or so at Drago’s keep that virus away.

I hope you won’t try that.

Five 300 ft sprints over 1.5 mile power walk. Rediscovering how good I feel after a run.
Delivery service delivers weights tomorrow. Judging on how heavy the olympic bar I got last week feels, the weights will be quite a change.

Four 100 yard sprints over 2 mile walk, no power walk today.

Usual 2 mile walk w/4 100 yard sprints. Then began my rack assembly in garage. Got the two sides assembled but decided I need help to join them together, so next weekend it should be done. Good thing I stopped since I sort of got a heat stroke from that 3 hrs in advanced humidity. Great for sweating.

I now can add scaffold assembly and bridge building to my resume.

Be careful!
The humidity has let up some here, now it just feels like a convection oven instead of a sauna… lol

Convection oven, exactly what I was thinking while in the garage.

I remember being in your neck of the world in August. The humidity was crazy. I suppose you get used to it after a while.

Like getting used to hanging.

For your sandbag, do you use real sand, or the filler they sell? I am thinking of just going to Lowes and getting a couple bags of real sand.
