65+ Training

I can only wish. I’ve been declared essential, even though I could do 90% of my work from home. I’d probably get more done too.

50 lb kettlebell two handed swings 4 x 25
50 lb sandbag carry about 170 feet

band flyes 3 x 10
band front raises 3 x 10 each side

I’ve had farmers walk bars for about 2 years and had hardly used them before.

Impressive.
That’s a lot of work.

Not compared to the volume you do.

Regular gym is still a better motivator for me.

I’m a youngster.
Seriously 200 swings is something.
Hope you are staying well, and enjoying spring.
I think we will all be back to much of life as we knew it before, soon enough.

50 pushups. Looking online at gym equipment presently.

50 pushups.

Present equipment doesn’t motivate me except on Saturday mornings. Should have adequate garage gym soon. I’ll stay away from commercial gym until about September to be safe.

Not sure what you are looking at or like for home equipment.
Bands are great. The Spud inc cable attachment is nice for cable type of work. If you have something you can attach it to, does a lot of options. I have one . It’s held up well and is sturdy.
Like a lot of things, gym equipment seems to have pretty good resale value.
Maybe some photos when you are done?

Yes, photos. I’ve decided on the olympic plates and bar; about done researching racks. Ordering process, or at least getting in line, starts next week. I plan to have a squat/bench/deadlift setup safer than my present commercial gym. I also plan to wait a few months after gym reopens to resume workouts there.

Biker- great to see you banging away ! I think thats a good plan in terms of returning to the gym…no rush, it will be there…Im definitely waiting a month as well.

Stay well, stay safe brother !

I find in some ways my home workouts have been better than the gym. I am not sure if it has something to do with few distractions or it’s just more old school.

I think you will completely enjoy your home gym.
Your schedule, music, equipment. Great time saver and always available.

50lb kettlebell, same

band flyes 3 x 15

band front raises 3 x 10

50 lb sandbag carry 200 feet.

Farmers walks just stared at me to no avail. Getting used to 80% humidity takes time.

Packing the sandbags around early in the morning. I love it.

Crippler, no exhibitionist here, unlike those who wear chains in public.

Your neighbors’ reactions…

Sometimes I just have to.

chin ups 2,3,0
kettlebell swings 3 x 30 & 1 x 10 @ 35; 3 x 30 & 1 x 10 @ 50; 1 x 15 @ 80
farmers walks 110 feet w/105 each arm w/straps
sandbag pickups/throw downs 5 reps each arm

Longest farmers walk yet; grip issues shortened this walk. Presently waiting to order rack and weights, getting as much American made as available despite price. Keeping the peace with a wife who is boycotting anything Chinese. Looking forward to getting this stuff despite uncertain wait times, but present workouts will suffice for awhile. Looking back I should have offered to buy some of that NCAA football coach neighbor’s stuff when he was moving to Kansas. He had an absolutely fully equipped garage gym.

50 lb sandbag carry, 250 feet or so, about 125 feet each shoulder.

Less sweating at 5 am. I’m adjusting to this; bands have been making me sore. Rogue responded finally with a “please be patient” email in response to my offer to prepay for a pricey rack. They stated they’re swamped at moment and I just have to wait for the notify me option to work.

Otherwise we’re healthy here.

Post lunch update: Rogue advised they are now accepting orders for their RM-4 monster rack. After the waiting it seemed like a privilege to pay them. Somewhat excited, but no plates yet. Darn thing weighs 500 pounds. Maybe lift the parts until I get plates…
