I get to observe a lot of lives in the course of my own, and a particularly difficult thing for me to encounter is carelessness with other people. I somehow find it easier to empathize with outright abusers, who generally have been victimized themselves, than people who carelessly prioritize their own mild comfort over others’ basic wellbeing, e.g. parents who leave their son or daughter to wait with their overnight bag packed for a visit that isn’t happening and nor did the parent have the courtesy to call.
I know she must be lovely for you to show this level of dedication. It just burns me that she’s not showing the same level of investment in your wellbeing that you are hers. An “I’m sorry, no” at least.
This is why, doing the work I do, I find angry music and my treadmill so helpful in combination.

Workout felt pretty good despite gym’s AC broken; sweated a LOT. South Louisiana 5 am outside was remarkably more comfortable as I was leaving.
